I remember when you could post a new thread on this forum and within an hour it could be on the second page.

What happened? Is EF just not popular these days or has social media meant that internet forums in general just don't get the traffic they once did?

It says there are 53 people viewing chat & conv at the moment so I don't get it..

Can still see a few old names here..

I originally signed up here (with a different username) in around 1999-2000. I remember being on here during the 9/11 attacks.

Back then, elite fitness must have been one of the real booming communities on the internet. It was good both for bodybuilding advice and for just having a chat or debate with people around the world...i guess a lot of those people wh once had the time on their hands moved on and never got replaced when social media came along..

Nostalgia..

Same, used to be on here years ago..

Couldn't remember my user name, made a new account..

Lot quieter now, but I'm always down to chat.. I'm on a few other forums to.

It's eery in here...not only are there very few posts anymore..but everyone just post one line 'in joke' replies.

It feels like Toy Story where all the old toys have been replaced by the new and just sit in a box not speaking. Wake up everyone!?

Haven't seen that Toy Story but good analogy

Really...what's the point of being a mod?

You know, I'm not sure? I figured a moderator's job was to keep the board functioning at a social level so people would want to be there so there would be more $$ because of more members. That meant cleaning up spam posts, moderating obscene or illegal content, harassment etc. Nothing more than that.

So now you can just pay to become a moderator. Kinda makes the job pointless.

least ya dnt get as much weekend warriors talkin about cycles they dnt stock up for or finish... then ya give knowledge an wast time on ppl

What for? Years ago if I'd posted this thread it would have been on the second page within an hour. It's not even moved.

wtf are you trying to say?

Mods let chat run unchecked for too long til there were next to no real discussion threads to join.

The mod job has always been pointless.

Howdy jd_uk!! Smurfy here!

I think part of the reason that this board slowed down was that it wasn't maintained anymore. The design hasn't changed in years and I noticed there are errors logging in on a phone etc..

Maybe social media plays a part but the beauty of forums is that you can post anonymously and get advice on things you wouldn't want to share on facebook. Also you get like minded people with interests in fitness or bodybuilding in this case. The owners need to work on this site and get it going again.
