Shakes vs Real Food

Does your body know the difference if you got Protein/Carbs from a shake or real food? Is it better for your body in turns of gaining size/muscle one over the other? If so, why?

Try and get most of everything you need from food sources. Some people have like 4 shakes a day its not good. I have a shake after the gym when I want fast absorbing protein but before bed I will eat eggs or chicken with EVOO becuase it will digest slower while im sleeping VS quicker from a shake
 
the difference is like night and day. look at the absolute best muscle building foods here is a meal fresh steak cooked only enough to make it safe to eat, sweat taters as close to raw as possible and broccoli as close to raw as possible and a glass of milk. if you where to eat meals like this with some variation 6-10 times per day with proper training and recovery you will grow. now look at the best powdered shakes, bars, cookies, puddings ect in existance. they are all highly processed and always have one thing in common the protein comes from powder. the process that takes milk, meats, eggs and turns them into a powder that has a verry long shelf life is what makes it your worst possible source of protein.

if you question this try an experiment.

eat the real food like my example for 1 month and chart your stats. then eat nothing but shakes and bars for 1 wk and see how much muscle you lose.

sup. meals should definately be reserved for when you have no other choice.

Let me ask this...What about drinkable egg whites from Egg Whites International or Lana's Egg Whites, would those be in your system as real food since its eggs? I'm just trying to add some true variation to my meals without hindering gains.

yes that is real food. eggs are one of the better sources of protein. back in the early bb.ing days that was extremely common practice along with shit loads of milk. still i wouldnt be able to stomach that shit. id just cook them. the milk on the other hand is one of my favorites. i drink about 1 gallon ed.
