Sexual Harassment

I love Mava

ok, i have this friend that I work with and theres this 60 year old man that is either a shit head to her or he is being a pervert one...she has countless times in a nice way try to tell him to back off
Well, this morning she was doing something and he came up behind her and straightneed her collar and kissed her on the neck!!!!!! she was like wtf are u doing? This guy gives her the creeps and is old and stuff...
anyway, she told two bosses and one wants to tell the MAIN boss, because if the main boss finds out, I personally think it will be his word against hers because noone saw him do it.
Well, the other boss dont really want to talk to the main boss because hes old and he could lose his job ...well he WOULD lose his job.....I dont know, i just woudnt want the headache of dealing with that stuff myself
I think hte next time he does some shit like that she should just smack him or something and kick him in the gioin
what do u think she shoud do?

Some body touches me...I'd fuck 'em up.
She shoulda kicked him

Well maybe if there would be a threat of his losing his job he would behave appropriately instead of sneaking around the problem.

Hmmmmmmmmp I'd put visine in his coffee.

well if she doesn't report it -- and he continues doing it -- she has no one to blame but herself.

True story. The fact that her manager knows about it and isn't doing anything could cost her company a lot of money.

She should report every event because if he does something that is so bad she really decides to open up her mouth there will be no history of events.

Ummmmmmmm, her boss, his boss & the whole company are in BIG legal trouble for ignoring this..... And she could get arrested for assault & battery if she just smacks him.....or fired....

So do u think, if she reported it, it woudl be his word against hers? i mean weve had fights before and everyone knows she hates him

i would report him to higher management, fill in a harrassment form...

i was harrassed at work by 2 managers directly above me, i complained to their manager above them - (who was a woman and took action ASAP) and I got moved to another section, to cut a long story short within a few months both of them got fired and i was asked to provide evidence in court on their behaviour...never did ...that would have affected my promotion and my friendship with the rest of my work collegues...

she has to think caerfully what she will lose/gain from her complaint, will her manager listen and help her with her problem?

She needs to "officially" report it, thus having a record of him bothering her..... of course it's his word against hers -- he may deny it, but needs to report every event & insist it be written down, preferably with his & her sigs & put in his file. If the company chooses to ignore it, then she's got a BIG ass suit....

SK: If he's doing it with others then there jointly they could document a pattern of behavior and the strength of the evidence is increased relative to the number of complaints.

I think she should definatly kick and hard. That is terrible, and yeah its totally hard to prove that stuff, she needs a witness but the only crappy thing is to have a witness she would have to have that happen to her again, and we don't want that. I don't know if she wants to seriously act on it I would talk to someone big. Like maybe the POlice??? Hard to say. Hope everything turns out okay:)

That's what I was thinking too.

Get her to audio or video tape it.
Without real proof; They will make her look like the bad guy.

Remind me never to fuck with Velvett. LOL

Have his ass kicked in the parking lot. Send a message to any potential assholes.

WTF does Visine in coffee do?

Maybe not the police....... I had a chance to press sexual harassment charges on an officer a few months ago, that slapped my ass, drunk in front of 2 other drunk police officers who all were driving also......nice

report b4 it goes farther- he may not only try to kiss her next time- tell her to be careful, even though he is old.. crazy horny sick dudes may be able to over-power her- make sure she is never alone with the saggy old ball freak

1) She should prepare a brief write-up of what happened (similar to your post). Make sure she includes key phrases such as "unwelcome contact" and "has created a hostile working environment". Also make it clear that she has given this individual feedback on numerous occasions that the contact is not desired.

2) Send the write-up to her manager as well as to the human resources department. If the company is big enough, they'll have an omsbudsman or some other specialist in either "Integrity" or maybe even specifically harassment.

Human resources will know what to do from there :)
