separating the egg whites...?

what's the easiest way to separate these things...?

i have a hell of a time diffing those yolks out of the bowl... :(

There's actually a kitchen tool you can buy to do this---looks like a large round spoon with slits at the sides.

One trick I used to use was to crack the egg in half, so the yolk/white was in one half, and pour it back and forth between the halves. The white would eventually drip into whatever you had below.

Now, I just buy whites by the carton. Way freakin' cleaner and easier. ;)

Yeah, I just do the back/forth drip method. A tool would be nice though.

If you don't have one of those specialized tools, maybe a strainer would work..

I am too poor to buy egg whites :(

I do the crack-the-egg-in-half-then flip back N forth method......it's easy once you get the hang of it and at 8 cents an egg @ Costco, it's worth it...

Something else you can try if you don't like the other way is to make a small hole at either end and blow the white out the other side. The yolk should stay in the shell.

hell, i forgot all about the back and forth method... i actually used to do that years ago, but totally forgot about it...

one thing i noticed, is the whites sure seem to be more "attached" to the yolks than they used to be...

how many egg whites, makes a decent breakfast, in your opinion... I usually leave 1 yolk in the mix just for color... i figure the little bit of fat from it, isn't going to harm me anyhow...
