Scot's contest pics

Bfold and Scots -

Some peeps I know (friends of friends type of thing)

Are going to have a strongman contest up in AZ maybe in September... I guess ESPN news contacted NASS headquarters about wanting to promote a show out there and doing something with the winners at a halftime show at a cardinals game.......

I think they are looking at multiple weight classes as well...

I don't know all the details, but if either of you want I could get you the email of someone who will be in the know as things develop.

PRO Nationals is in July I do believe...in Las Vegas. NASS Nationals would be about the only NASS show that I'd think was REALLY ESPN worthy.

Getting ESPN to work with you takes a small miracle since their "show" is with TWI and the WSM.

I try to stay as far away as I can from getting my head stuck out there with the NASS stuff. Quite often if you try to help or offer advice...the people in charge will quickly bite your head off.

I'm not that involved. This stuff is all beyond me. Anyways, I will keep the board posted if a contest does come together just in case you guys know anyone who would be interested.

Heard it was a fun contest and a HOT one at that.

How did you feel about your performance and what do you need to work on from here?

Any other contests coming up?

Yeah topped 100 degrees during the show.

My performance was soso. I need to work on grip strength, and overall core strength aside from trying to get all around stronger. I also am in the process of making an atlas stone should be about 270lbs, if it turns out well I am going to make a set of 6-7 to practice with. I also need to get some more of the implements so I can train with them more and get used to them.

Probably not going to compete until late july or early august, I went to a local show to check it out and the guys are going to do at least 2 maybe 3 more shows in colorado so that'll be nice so I don't have to travel as far.

Met Mike Wortham he was really cool, along with some of the new pros that were there helping Willy out. Willy was also at the one this past weekend in Colorado and we kind of laughed telling the guys about how hot it was.

Mike Wortham is for sure one of my best friends....and VERY strong. I know he said he had a BAD day that day...mostly because he wasn't prepared for the heat.

Yeah Mike was awesome he and I sat in the back of the bar between events where it was cool. I mentioned that I knew you off the net and he told me you guys were friends and talked almost daily.

He finished third in the SHW, came down to the car pull and he had to finish 2nd to win but got third and they were all within a point and a half of each other going into the last event. It was so hot that the resin that was on the stones from the previous competitors had turned to snot so it was hard to grip them.

I know I lost at least four pounds in water weight from the start to end of the comp, and I was drinking water/gatorade as fast as I could without upsetting my stomach.

Cheers,
