Her religion/looks have very little to do with her lack of talent. Comediennes dont NEED to be pretty. Matter of fact some of my favorites made great careers out of being uglier than they were in real life.... Carol Burnett/Tracy Ullman (to name a couple) and well, Roseanne was very unnattractive period. Don't know if you like that type of humor but there is no denying that she had a VERY lucrative career that spanned a coupla decades I am thinkin.
I don't think there are very many people who haven't heard of Roseanne Barr in the last 20 years.
Even the late great Lucille Ball (who was a very handsome woman) enjoyed being made to look ugly.
Fact is this Sarah Silverman broad just lacks talent. Her performance was TERRIBLE.

She's hot and kinda funny but who the fuck uses the "call in and say you have diarrhea" joke, that shit is lame and has been used 10 billion times. That lowers her funniness/coolness factor by 1/4 at least.

Only problem was the timing. I mean Brittany pretty much came out a train wreck. Could barely stand on her feet. Lip synching was horrible and the pouch didnt fit the outfit.
Everyone just felt bad for her and then you get Sarah Silverman out there just destroying her. I mean at least when Chris Rock did it she was still hot and sober so you couldnt really feel bad for her.
I love Sarah Silverman. I wish I had of listened to Howard Stern this morning.
Simply put, it would have been funny if Brittany Spears hadnt just been up on stage looking like shell be found dead in a couple weeks.
Christ, it took 40mins for the show to recover after her big "comeback" .
