Rotator Cuff problem??

PainforGain

New member
I got a slight problem, whenever im doing some shoulder and chest exercises, i get a sharp pain in my shoulder, like where it bones connect. I was told it could be a rotator cuff problem. Its wierd, because some exercises and i can do a lot of weight and no problem, others i do a little and its hurts. Anything I can do to strengthen it? I know i can be doing a lot more weight than im doin, but this seems to be holding me back, any suggestions?

Pains in the shoulder could be symptomatic of muscle imbalances in the chest and back. I am not sure exactly what is happening, but imbalances, i think, has something to do with bring the joint out of alignment or something.

probably best to see your physio and they can tell u whether u have a muscular imbalance or just a weak rotator cuff. Then u can decide on what you will need to do to rehabilitate it.

Most people have terrible posture, and coupled with heavy weight training, this is usually the cause of rotator cuff injuries.

It's important to always keep your scapulae "retracted and depressed" especially when doing bench press. Pull you shoulders back, and then drop them down. Make sure you keep them in this position while doing bench press.....
