You would to ask the podcaster why they believe that. Adding resistance bands to your weight training can help with certain parts of compound movements for sure.

I will try with dumbbells for negative strength instead of only push. I will give some news in two weeks about. I think this is good between to increase weight when you are not enough strong to get one more. Football players use them.
