rep scheme and sets

I was looking to change up my workout strategy a bit and follow this new scheme of sets and reps. Warm up the muscle first getting a little pump going and sweat a bit. High rep low weight of course. Then doing 5 reps of 3 sets super heavy. Then do drop sets of 12 reps each. Would this concept work good?
 
I am a huge advocate of switching up your training and trying new things. Unless you hurt yourself, you won't see any negative from trying something new.
