Are you doing the GMS seated or standing?? If standing - stiff or bent legged & what is the depth?
I'm thinking you mean Good Mornings?! If so I was doing them standing legs straight, bending over to 90 to back up to hit the hams more then the low back. How come? Transitioned out of those this week.

I have a question about the reps you choice for each set. You do 6,1,6,12,20 reps. I noticed that some of the other women also do something similar. Is there an article or thread available that explains the rep sequence?
;) I think you been checkin out SBT's log.

After reading about different types of rep schemes I decided to combine a few different training ideas into one and that is how I came up with the last work-out. I took a strength work-out approach, took in the idea of a wave style technique, finished out with higher reps to recruit more muscle fibers and try to fatigue the muscle out. So towards the end it kinda had a hypertrophy flare. I had also never strictly done an upper body work-out and a lower body work-out. So I decided that I would throw that in there while keeping in mind that I would go back to a 5 day single body part again next cycle up till show. So the difference would hopefully help shock the muscles a bit more... Then I was thinking how could I keep getting the weights to go up easier each week. That's when I took and divided out the upper and lower work-outs hitting each part a tad differently to help with the next work-out for that muscle group. So ie. for chest I would hit it with bench BB, then next upper day I would hit it with DB's and would notice a huge increase in strength between the two and it was a continual feed back and forth. I really enjoyed that work-out actually. I will definitely do it again some day and I think my body responded well, as well as somebody else's ;) . As for this week I am back into pure hypertrophy.

Specifically I found this cert on T-Nation about wave technique. Although mine was a altered wave.. this is the idea behind it:

"The method is a type of wave loading based on the principal of post-tetanic facilitation. You'll end up doing "waves" of three sets, using progressively heavier weight with each set. The second and third waves, however, will also use progressively heavier loads than the first wave. Athletes will find that the hardest wave is the first one, and the succeeding ones are easier to perform.

To get the best results in this method takes some emotional control — I don't believe that the first wave should be performed at optimal load. But the second may be — can you wait that long? I've also found that if you overdose on the first wave, the second wave is performed at the same or lower loads, and this definitely is not the goal."

hhhmmmm....interesting. let me know how it works out for ya.!!

train your arse off girl!!! i'll leave you with words of wisdom taken from a stripper i met in at the spearamint rhino in vegas "don't be a p#ssy, eat a p#ssy!!" what a wise and crafty young lady she was...

Good readings in your log!!

It sounds like your already mentally prepared for the cut, which is AWESOME, but you have been there before. :)

Explain to me the rotated pelvis left forward thingy...

HA HA the forward 'thingy' =
Well I have a slight rotation in my pelvis do to my lumbar vertebrae. I have a unilateral cracked disc (which is also rare) in my low back from when I went through basic training and so the disc's are out of whack and they are trying to get them back into well whack...
So my lumbar is rotated I forget how many degrees. So we are working on loosening up overly contracted muscles, and strengthening their counterparts. My psoas on my left is tight and does not like to release because it is trying to hold my pelvis in a way that it shouldn't have to. So we first release my psoas, after doing some minor lumbar corrections. Then going to my right side which is rotated forward (usually) we do some counter moves which are supposed to help release the psoas on that side along with the iliacus (the muscle inside the bowl of the pelvis-they work together). Usually my right psoas is tighter because it is shortened but releases a lot faster then my left because my left is in a very chronic overload. So I was thinking I went into PT right rotated forward at 3:00 the day prior slept that night back into pt at 7 a.m. and it was the opposite after being corrected. So I think I slept on my left side knee forward which kinda rotates the pelvis forward and being in any state for extended periods of time your body starts morphing. So that's a true case as to why even one night of bad sleep can really throw you out of whack. I was back to the back last night ;)

I'm trying to get fatter, and hit 170 pounds, Some might think that... LOL
It will be such a more dramatic effect when I drop all that extra water weight. :lmao:
O.k. explanation....
the only reason I'm doing it is to in effect "shock" my system when I go back down to a more reasonable kcal and cho level. I'm just trying to enhance the magnitude of my initial fat loss by imposing a more dramatic stress on the body than what I would if I had my kcal at say 1900. This is analogus
to performing lower reps for 4 weeks than doing sets of like 15-20.
Dramatic change is stimuli, dramatically different departure from homeostatis
equates to a substanially augmented adaptative response at a much
higher kcal threshold (meaning theoretically I should lose fat at higher
kcal # by doing this, which gives me more room to work when creating kcal
deficit as I progress forward)..

I love it when you talk anatomy to me lol :) Recent doc said I may have lateral curvature .. i thought maybe it was b/c my neck was jacked and havent had deep tissue work in forever, or been adjusted. :whatever: Thanks for explaining all that.

Going to reach my goal today!!!

PHYSICAL THERAPY =
Wed and Fri this week. Ma Roller I did not use yesterday but with massage work on Saturday a huge know in my longissimus (1 of 3 erectors in the back) finally came out ;)

MASSAGE THERAPY =
Saturday back work was awesome, Sunday I had arm work done. Not my favorite but needed it and the student needed to practice. I will be bruised after that one!!
I have 1 scheduled on Friday, and 2 back to back Saturday morning.

NOTES =
I am so excited cutting has begun!!! Can’t wait to see what I have added and how I’ve changed.
I have a new …. I wouldn’t say goal. Last year I did my show for Bunny and Pam. This morning I have a new found added reason for this show. Besides doing it with the girls and our friendship. I find it is always better to reach a goal by finding an un-selfish objective. So I haven’t quite figured out exactly what this is but it started forming this morning on the tread. It will do with giving part of myself away. Not focusing on my own struggle but relating my own mental and physical issues with other people and what they have gone through. It’s the one goal that seems to assist me every time I take on a trying challenge. So far I have 1 idea in my head.. Very random to I’m sure most people but I think all the time. So in ’94 there was genocide in Rwanda killing over 1 million people called the 100 days of horror. I know your thinking where the heck did that come from… nevermind. I have 97 days till my show. Although I know it’s not the exact 100 days… I feel 97 will do and I will call it 97 days of hope. In doing so I will think of different ways that I can somehow fulfill the time and dedicate my show to helping those that have suffered in one way or another. I don’t know at this point in time how I will go about doing this or what will come about… but we will see ;)

O.k. sooo I'm checking my spreadsheets for comparisons from this year and last year so I can report up any differences I see about anything with how my body has transitioned...

14 weeks out Date, day of the week, Weight, and Tantica scale BF measure
APRIL 10 2006 Monday 152.4 30.2
February 5 2007 Monday 169 32.6

The only difference last year I had no cheats the day before everything was taken, this year I did. So some is residual H20 weight.
Going to get calipered soon. Last year I started 29-30% BF according to trainer.
I need to get tape comparisons up, and again I'll do the pictures.. Maybe comparisons with last year as I progress.
I'm so excited.... ;)

Wed and Fri this week.

MASSAGE THERAPY =
I have 1 scheduled on Friday, and 2 back to back Saturday morning.

NOTES =
96 days of hope till my show. So for today I will include a couple picture graphics below… I have an idea of what to do this week. Just haven’t done it yet. Kinda studying and honoring survivors and those who watched in horror as their family members were killed in front of them.
Story:
“Between April and June 1994, an estimated 800,000 Rwandans were killed in the space of 100 days... but the genocide did not kill a million people. They killed one, then another, then another ... day after day, hour after hour, minute by minute. Every minute of the day, someone, somewhere was being murdered, screaming for mercy but receiving none. And the killing went on and on, 10,000 each day, 400 each hour, seven each minute." Excerpt from the publication Genocide, published by Aegis Trust for the Kigali Memorial Centre.
The death list had been prepared in advance. Genocide was instant. Roadblocks sprang up right across the city with militia armed one purpose; to identify and kill Tutsis. Simultaneously house-to-house searches began with the names on the death list the first to be visited and slaughtered in their own homes.
The murderers used machetes, clubs, guns and any blunt tool they could find to inflict as much pain on their victim as possible. No Tutsi was exempt.

The genocidaires often mutilated their victims before killing them. Victims had their tendons cut so they could not run away; they were tied and beaten. They were made to wait helplessly to be clubbed, or cut by machete.
Women were beaten, raped, humiliated, abused and ultimately murdered, often in site of their own families. Children watched in horror as their parents were tortured, beaten and killed in front of their eyes, before their own small bodies were sliced, smashed, abused, pulverised and discarded. The elderly; the pride of Rwandan society, were despised and mercilessly murdered in cold blood.
On occasions, victims were thrown alive down deep latrines and rocks were thrown in one at a time until their screams subsided into silence.
On other occasions, large numbers of victims were thrown down pit latrines. Victims trampled each other to death. The piles were often 10 bodies deep.
For 100 days the streets of the capital city of Kigali ran red with rivers of blood, but no one came to help. There was no international intervention in Rwanda, no expeditionary forces, no coalition of the willing. There was no international aid for Rwanda. For the most part, the world chose to ignore the conflict. News reports, referred to the genocide as “tribal warfare” And instead of causing international outrage, the genocide was written off as another “third world” incident and not worthy of attention. The Rwandan people (excerpt from Hotel Rwanda – the official website)”

NOTES =
O.k. so I found a way to make a cash donation to support missions in Rwanda and did so this morning.

I found this timeline of events from online and decided to post it in….
APRIL 7 2004
Hutu gunmen systematically start tracking down and killing moderate Hutu politicians and Tutsi leaders. The deputy to the U.S. ambassador in Rwanda tells Washington that the killings involve not just political murders, but genocide.
The U.S. decides to evacuate all Americans.
Canadian General Romeo Dallaire, head of the U.N. peacekeeping force in Rwanda, is told by headquarters not to intervene and to avoid armed conflict.
Day 1
Estimated Death Toll: 8,000
APRIL 9, 10, 11
Evidence mounts of massacres targeting ordinary Tutsis. Front page stories newspaper stories cite reports of "tens of thousands" dead and "a pile of corpses six feet high" outside a main hospital.
Gen. Dallaire requests a doubling of his force to 5,000.
Nearly 3,300 Americans, French, Italians and Belgians are evacuated by troops sent in from their countries.
Day 4
Estimated Death Toll: 32,000

A good cause to dedicate to.
Here in North America, despite the problems we have, we cannot even fathom what these people went through. Not just there, but in other incidents across time & around the world. What kind of poison is in these murderers souls that they can kill & torture that easily, with no repulsion, or mercy?
Gen. Romeo Dallaire wrote a book on his experience there. He was deeply tormented over the things that happened & he could not intervene. I believe the incident forced his retirement. I just got the book for Christmas, but I haven't read it yet.

NOTES =
Since I won’t be logging this weekend I’m hopping forward to day 8 and 9 on the massacres in Rwanda. I haven’t decided yet, but I may skip around to different countries. I want to get into what our own U.S. Soldiers are doing now. It seems people have blocked out who is fighting for our freedom and how many have given up their families, and lives so we can all enjoy freedom. I have a few ideas floating again in my head. Not to say Rwanda is less important, but I did support it through donation, and brought some light to the topic. We’ll see maybe I’ll stay put LOL.
APRIL 15
Belgium withdraws its troops from the U.N. force after ten Belgian soldiers are slain. Embarrassed to be withdrawing alone, Belgium asks the U.S. to support a full pullout. Secretary of State Christopher agrees and tells Madeleine Albright, America's U.N. ambassador, to demand complete withdrawal. She is opposed, as are some African nations. She pushes for a compromise: a dramatic cutback that would leave a token force in place.
Day 8
Estimated Death Toll: 64,000
APRIL 16
The New York Times reports the shooting and hacking to death of some 1000 men, women and children in a church where they sought refuge.
Day 9
Estimated Death Toll: 72,000

THANKS ;)
My right arm has just been acting stupid. Didn't do anything to onset it. It's overuse. Been massaging it and need to ice it. It gets really stupid when I do arm work (I'm right arm dominant). So I switched mouse hand 3 months ago to the left hand and that is helped a bunch. BUt.... still retarded some days.
Took huge drink for you. I need to get crackin or else I'm not going to make goal.. I'm only on number 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I C

BTW, please give me the cliff notes version how to use that roller... :qt: Like the wedge? (aside from the ability to 'roll')

Very similar to wedge....
Start in your bunzzzz ;) slowly just relax into it no need to move it. Can stay in one spot up to like 5 minutes breathing will help you relax into it. Once you get a spot relaxed move it inch by inch up back. Don't do to much at first 20 minutes-30 is plenty for the first few times. Do on the neck area only like a minute since it's more delicate area. Don't sleep on it, and drink LOTS of H20 after.

Yes SBT chuggin now!!! ;)

Seriously, I am simply amazed at the muscle mass you've put on, Treilin! I can't tell you how valuable such a concrete example of your deliberate *muscle feeding* and training is. Your pics really illustrate what all you ladies have been talking about....body composition. You look great, girl! :rose:

WOW…. You can say I had an awesome work-out last night. I wish someone would piss me off every day before I go to the gym, LOL
My legs feel like friggen JELL-O!!!!!!

So this week I move to a place called Darfur where genocide is taking place. Even after a peace treaty was signed killings have increased. Here is a paragraph I decided to include for today:

“The ongoing Darfur Genocide is no accident, no local tribal conflict. The genocide is the brutal plan of three men in the Sudanese national Government -- President Bashir, Vice-President Taha, Security Chief Gosh. Now they are spreading their system of terror to other African countries, including Chad and the Central African Republic . Yet our governments continue to cut deals with them - deals they repeatedly break. It is time for the US and European governments to stop appeasing genocide. We call on our governments to fully support the International Criminal Court to indict the perpetrators of genocide, and to help ensure their arrest. It is time for justice, because only justice can bring peace.

For Bashir, Taha and Gosh, it is time for handcuffs, not handshakes.”

Doing great so far. No issues. Just chugging along…..

Moving to Iraq in the News today:
Washington - The House will begin debate today on a simple, tightly worded resolution opposing the deployment of additional combat troops to Iraq, even as Democratic leaders move forward on binding language that would curtail those deployments and begin to bring troops home.
The brief Democratic resolution will frame three days of debate on the war, culminating in an expected vote Friday to put the House on record against President Bush's decision to deploy more than 20,000 additional U.S. combat troops to Iraq. The resolution affirms Congress' support for "the members of the United States Armed Forces who are serving or who have served bravely and honorably in Iraq" before breaking with the president's new strategy.
"We will vote on a straightforward proposition: Do you support the president's plan or oppose it?" said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. "That vote will herald whether the House understands the message the American people are sending about the policies used to implement this war: They have not worked, they will not work, and they must be changed."

Yesterday rotation was back in lumbar. I can feel when it is off now.. So that is half of getting to become a bit more familiar so I should hopefully be able to start correcting myself when this happens.

Next appointment is Friday.
MASSAGE THERAPY =
Tues 22nd, and Thurs 24th

NOTES =
I have no idea but I’m in the greatest mood!
I bought this cool coffee maker last night at B3 and it’s so much fun. It has these pods and makes single cups of coffee and has all the pretty blue lights LOL
Little pricey but that’s the one present to myself from my tax return the rest is going into savings!!

I’m toying with the idea of selling my house next spring and moving to Atlanta next summer to be closer to my bro and family. Thankfully I have a great roommate who wants to move with me ;) It is inevitable that I will be going there just when ??? So I think I will be going back to school possibly for Physical Therapy there at Georgia State University. I have to take a few classes before hand that I can take at a community college. So I can do that, and find a job doing personal training and massage. I have a few clients right now I’m tracking with picture progress and are following plans so I am building a portfolio already.

Need to schedule to take my Massage National Certification after the May show so I can be nationally accredited. I’m also looking into a dietician program to get certified as well before I leave state.

Going to Vegas next month for a NSCA CEU seminar the week following the Arnold meeting up with some trainers out there as well to talk program design and work-out with a few.

I’m not in the mood to put any sad pictures up but I’m thinking about it and reading as usual on issues. Back to World post tomorrow.
