Real Women's workout and Fitness Magazine

OXYGEN.. I liked FitnessRX in the beginning -- now they promote. 100lb women 5'9"
on the cover.. they are now becoming Shape magazine ..

I like Mens health

I flip through them... I used to love oxygen but the endless ads piss me off... I rarely read the articles in them because most of the stuff is just regurgitated bullshit.. But I like some of the pictures and I will look at the receipes for ideas...

I like the new Women's Health magazine. It is put out by the publisher's of Men's Health and follows a similar format. There is still some fluff, but I have found it to be much more "real" than all of those other magazines. My husband and I now have dueling copies of Men's Health and Women's Health cluttering up our bathroom! :FRlol:

HEY! I was in some of those endless ads! lol ;)

Seriously, I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE Oxygen, M&F HERS (R.I.P.) and Fitness Rx. But now I just flip through them at the store. They aren't worth buying. VERY rarely do I get actually information I can USE. Fitness Rx still has some interesting articles, but I HATE the cover models. They weigh as much as one of my legs (pre-PG)! It annoys me.

If you are looking for new routines, the Men's mags are actually more helpful IMO. Those articles are actually geared toward gaining muscle and intense training. Most of the Women's mags are geared toward getting skinny - even the ones like Oxygen.

I think when "learning" how to workout and eat right they are very helpful. But once you get to know how YOUR body works, they become pointless. You get MUCH more from sites such as EF.

Plus, the more you know about fitness and competitions, you realize that the competitors in there lie their assess off about their diet and workout routines. And drug use isn't even mentioned (doesn't sell!) even though you know it is running rampant in the top competitors.

There's a new one out called Best Body that I'm totally feeling. I believe they are up to their 3rd issue, and so far so good!
