Raw eggs

I thought everyone had stopped drinking raw eggs because fo the ecoli problem throughout the egg industry -then I saw Nick Nolte adding raw eggs to his protein shake on a CBS show last week, so I guess some people still do.

It's 2001. Don't try to get sick. It taste better cooked anyway. Leave that supposed to be "hardcore" stuff for the 70's and beyond.

I totally agreed with Mike Peters. Some of the eggs might be contaminated. Better play safe than sorry, cook it.

raw eggs?

ewwww (gag)

why raw when you can just cook'em, you get the same benefit, and as for me, i can stomach it cooked, as opposed to raw. yucko!

Anybody thought about egg beaters or those other egg substitutes? I've never looked at the nutritional contents of any of those such products, but if you want a eggy taste to your shake thats a option. If it's just to get the egg's nutitritional benefits, better cooked than risk your health.

Best bet is those little cartons of pasturized Egg whites sold in the dairy case.
You can add them to shakes and not worry about Sal.
Some hardcore's drink them right from the carton...

Yes, I've been known to down a few.

But for safety's sake I suggest the pasteurized egg whites that Tomcat suggested. I need to get some myself.

It's 2001. Mike Peters has got that right. But really, what sort of miraculous advances have really come along since guys were lifting in the 70s?

:)

The only thing that has really blossomed is a fear of eating for mass because we're afraid to lose our god damn little pretty boy abs. I'm preoccupied with this myself. If this hadn't been an issue, I KNOW I would have another 20-30 lbs of mass, another 100+ lbs on each of my big lifts. God damn men's health.

especially during summer.

as for egg whites not mixing into protein shakes, why not just add some whey protein in the protein shake, and cook up a nice egg-white omelette later on? Safer and tastes better! What I use for a protein shake is a bit of skim milk and whey protein. sure there's some carbs in the milk, but i use a small amount and anyway i heard it is easier for the body to absorb protein if it's mixed in with some carbs or fat.

but i have heard that egg beaters mix in well with anything.

wynnyelle: Who's got time to cook anything. I barely have time to open the carton and throw it in my whey/skim.
"Egg Beaters" have some Oil in them and therefore aren't as good IMO as the plain Egg Whites.

Karellan: Advances? Spin locks on DB/BB and Whey Isolate :D
