I would say Samoth is a genius in the traditional sense...he lacks certain social skills but as far as his level of cognitive function and problem solving abilities (which is basically what an IQ test is based around) they are extremely high.

The smartest people are the ones who are well learned in different subjects. Ie. fitness, psych, fluent in different languages, know how to play an instrument, and know how to do math. I noticed the majority of people are just smart in one area but lack in all other areas. With that being said, RottenWillow, Digi, Stoss, and Blueta are probably the smartest people on EF...

i have a few finger-picked pieces under my belt and i can say with complete honesty that blackbird is a fairly complicated song to play well...and then to sing along with it? that's pretty impressive.

I've actually played the guitar for 13 years, since my parents forced me in to frequent lessons at 10 when what I asked for was piano lessons.

are you any friggin' good? i played a LONG time ago (like 35 years...OMG i'm teh old) and never really put any effort into it...my daughter and i started taking lessons about 3-and-a-half years ago...i play open mic night with her once in a while...she does all the singing, though

I'm not some sort of guitar genius but I'm good at it. I did lessons for about 5 years, since then it's just been me playing/learning a song when I feel like it.
If I had music in front of me, I could play a song decently on the first go, not perfect or anything. Or if I heard a song I liked, I could teach it to myself fairly quickly, but that's probably a combination of many years of guitar lessons + choirs + musical theatre that I can pick up on music fairly easily.

I was forced to take piano. I think I started around four. I played the viola for a long time, too. That was fun.
I went to a performing arts school as well for that shit.I have two guitars here that Abby plays with sometimes. Thinking of getting her started with piano lessons at three.

Spartacus likes to just open up his mind and let shit fall out; often in haiku form. He's like the C&C beat poet - you can many times see flashes of brilliance in there.
Strongbow occasionally shows flashes of brilliance as well but he mostly plays an online persona so it's harder to spot.
Smurf is a good shit and her parody of spartacus was fantastic. She must have some smarts to pull that off.
Nan is another really nice person with great sense of humor - and she's smart enough to be an IT specialist. But I can't recall any posts that really allow me guage her intelligence. She could be the smartest of all; I just don't have enough to judge either way.

you proly know this but interlochen is not in the UP, still in a awesome part of the state, upper lower northwest corner...lotsa freshwater, fruit farms, and rolling landscape.
