hey guys i was wondering if there is anyone who is knowledgable about radar detectors. im looking to get the best radar detector i can buy, dont care about money. here is my options

valentine one- i wanted this one, because of the arrows and the rear antenna, but many sites say that it is bad against POP-mode, which scares me.

Escort- passport 8500 X50

BEL Pro RX65

in my previous life as a Deputy, we could clock your speed twice and lock it in before your detectors would ever go off. Gotta be smart on using them and not rely on them to find the cops. fyi

Jmazz-i heard about this which is why im holdin off on buying one for now. What's the point if PoPo doesn't use radar anymoreit would be a BIG waste of casheesh. Although "the guy at work" was tellin me that they have updates that you can send your equipment in and they get reprogrammed or some shit. Possibly to keep up to date with the latest technology?

I like helicopters and fixed wing. Another thing you cold do is to use radar like we do to track aircraft. gives you location, speed, vector etc. Put a transponder in the car just like IFF. Just make sure it isn't identifying you as foe or you get a sidewinder up your tailpipe!

the new passport 8500 x50 and the BEL both have it for pop.....

chesty...pop is some sort of Ka bang that only takes like .67 seconds to get your speed

you still have to break like a mofo when that thing goes "off"

and not appear so goddamn noticeable
remember though,they can't see you until you see them
but they still have great ambush sites
you have to watch for likely ambush sites
and you have to have cars ahead of you that they "may" clock,so as to catch the radar bounce
it's also always important to pay attention to cars ahead of you and their break lights
virtually every driver will break when they spot a cop,even if not speeding
if a car ahead of you breaks for seemingly no reason
slow up

The new ones won't be, and as far as "up and coming" goes, most law enforcement agencies won't have it for a few years yet.

I have a V-1, Passport 8500, & Bel 980. Valentine & Escort are best in my book, v1 may be just a little better (sensitivity), but for the money escort is hard to beat.

i bought the escort...it has a 30 day money back trial...and i looked over a few sites (unbiased) that did tests on them) and they said the passport 8500 x50 was the best...keep in mind it is greatly improved over the regular 8500...
