QUICK Fat Loss???

it does. Highly restrictive diet, actually a bit below BMR (this will back fire if you do it long enough) and cardio like there is no tomorrow.

You will get rid of some muscle too though. If you dont want this to happen, a bit higher on carbs and still the same cardio like a mofo

Thanks for the quick post...which brings up another question....

It's always said to to do cardio for 20-30 minutes a day....but what if you do way more? Like a couple of hours a day. At what point do you start to lose muscle instead of fat? Should I do 1/2 hour of cardio, stop and eat a small, small snack? Thanks.

nope. In my experience, and this differs from person to person, 20-30 mins is not enough. I go for 45 min 6 times/week.

What is really key is the INTENSITY of the cardio: fat-loss advocates will say that 65% MHR is maximum... I say screw that and go for 75~85% MHR. At this pace, the max you can do is about 1 hour and you will be dying by the end of it.

Over one hour/session you see dimishing returns

Another rather dramatic measure is cardio twice per day (morning and evenings) but for this you will need to pay close attention to what you eat, in such an scenario I would recommend BMR+200 cals, at least 50% prot, 20% carbs and 30% GOOD fats.

Anyway, a program as intensive as this should not be kept any longer thatn 4 weeks or so. Remember: YOU HAVE TO KEEP LIFTING to protect your muscles.

Sorry....gotta spread the Karma or else you would'a got hit...

Thanks for the tips.

Any thoughts on fat-burning supplements (OTC, not illegal)....preferably something I can quickly buy at GNC or Walgreens....

pintoca is correct in what he has advised you but due to your time frame of one month ... the solution you are looking for is likely to be very unhealthy for you.You could probably shed a great deal of body weight (not just body fat) in this period but the problem is what happens next month. Such a rapid change to your system is just not healthy.

The same thing applies to supplements such as Hydroxycut, Hot Rox, Ephedra and other thermogenics. The time frame you are working with would tempt you to push their uses to unsafe levels to achieve your short term goal.

Best advice -- although you may not want to hear it -- go to your 20th reunion as you are and hold your head up high.

The day after your reunion, start setting up a healthy exercise and nutritional program for yourself so that you can be in top condition for the 21st reunion.

HIIT (guerilla cardio) then stack 25mg ephidrine with 200mg caffeine and 20mg yohimbine 3 times daily cut your cals by 500 hi-protein and moderate carbs.

Well there is the fat fast diet up in the sticky section. I dont know if its worth it though. I remember reading an article (in a mag though) that said if you eat two shakes and three meals of protein and fat only. Not necessarily Atkins since the amount of protein you eat will not allow you to be in ketosis.

I can tell you from experience that you can lose a lot in a short period of time. But....no matter how much you lose it will not be enough. You will want more and you still will not be happy.

At least that is how I am. I wouldn't say go as you are now but I would say start now and know that the process does not happen in 30 days. You didn't put it on that fast and it will not come off that fast either.

Start hitting it hard, diet hard, cardio hard twice a day if you can, and know that when this reunion is over you are still going to do the same thing. This isn't about impressing anyone else this is about you. You have to want this because it is right and you want to be better than you are.

You have to burn for the end result (which you will never see) and you have to approach each session like it is the last time you will ever get to train hard again and give it everything you have.

You will have to fail to succeed, learn to grow, and tear yourself down again and again just to rebuild into something better than you are.

Ask yourself how much do I want this? How much am I willing to give and how much will I suffer to make this happen? Revel in the suffering, enjoy the journey, and embrace the pain. Because you will suffer, you will journey and you will hurt! If you don't you are just wasting your time.
