Questions about Creatine

I just started taking creatine about a month ago. I plan on cycling the product two months on one month off.

My question is, is it better to be on creatine when you are in a competition or should you have cycled off it by then?

I know creatine creates a lot of water weight that is why I was wondering if its a good idea to cycle off the product maybe three to four weeks before you compete?

I going to be entering my first competition in about five months, I just trying to think ahead.

Also, are their any on you that are against cycling creatine or are against cycling it 2 on 1 off.

Any insight you guys can give will be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this sport and this board.

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Stop taking it at least 1 month before your comp,as creatine will make you look puffy. 2 months on and 1 off is perfect. Sounds like your off to a good start!!!!

i would say 2-4 weeks before stepping on stage, well maybe four since its your first comp and you don't yet know how you body will react. did you just start and you are going to compete in 5 months? that means you will be starting your diet with in 6 weeks?
good luck

I read a report a while back that stated when you stop taking creatine your body will lose (more or less) about 5% a day of the creatine that your creatine cycle stored within your muscles. So three weeks to a month would be just about right bro.
