My son was born deaf, he attended the school for the deaf until 4th grade when he recieved a cochlear implant, he played basketball and soccer every year until I divorced his mother. Since then hes become more of a couch potato computer/book worm. I was a pretty decent athlete in my day, and going through my old pile of brag awards, hes always wanted to play football. Technology hasnt been available to protect him sufficiently for football, intil recently a new high tech company has improved safety for foitball helmets, Xenith helmets are the ticket, and his Docs have given the go ahead. Hes been working out with the team, about 3 months now. Hes a freshman, 14 years old.
Now the reason for my title....He benched 250 yesterday!! Im so proud of this kid!! Hes been lifting for 6 months, thats it.

yes hes been attending public school since, he cant hear perfectly, but he speaks like anyone, and is an honor roll student. He uses the implant to his advantage, if his sister annoys him he turns it off...lol

dude 250?? thats awesom.... i'd be proud as you are if mine did that, but i have a girl and she only 15 months old so it would be weird. she does squat though..... dude i wish i could turn my ears off who says anything you really wanna hear anyway, and he gets to make a point of it " sorry your boring as bat shit so my ears are locked in the off position go annoy someone else". kids are the best, they pick you u[ when your down ( yours literally could ) and just seeing how carefree they are gives us a small break from the fucked up world surrounding us. all the best for the both of you

thanks bro, yeah my kids have been the inspiration for me to keep going when Id rather not. Their mother is a real douche bag, she does nothing in the way of teaching them or caring for them, we have shared parenting, which means I give her $1400 a month and I have them about 2/3 of the time. I pay for everything, because if I dont they go without, I also do the discipline, teaching, home work help, docs, dentists, prescriptions, clothes, haircuts, etc. etc. State of Ohio screws dad's. But they are worth everything, I do my best, but somehow always wish I was better.
I cant understand anyone who walks away from tbeir kids, although sometimes kids may be fortunate that looser parents arent around. I work hard to try to prepare them for life, so they dont have to rely upon anyone but theirselves.

dude i dont kno where you reside but here in australia, the mother could be a quadroplegic crackhead and the courts will still chose here as the fitter parent..... just from people i kno experiences they want so much more to do with their little ones but the bitch wont let em cos it will affect her child support, allamony or whatever you call it..... fuckin child support my fuckin ass, should be called " mummys weekly nails and haircuts followed by lunch with friends while the child could have got some books orsomething educational..... it fuckin grinds my nerves and im happpily married with child but when i hear of chicks turning into moles over a child they shared with someone they loved, bro ill dig the hole.

Yeah I agree about the child support being manipulated. It is BS! I offered her $50k cash, I pay the taxes on it, if she would sign over her rights. (this was 4 years ago) Her response was "thats half of what id get for support till their 18" notice she didnt respond with, "my children dont have a price" What pisses me off also, is I could be banking that money for their college funds. And my dumb ass actually "Loved" her at one time.
I try to not even speak to her anymore, because im not going to let her impact my health by causing more stress. In the end, I know someday my kids will look back and know what kind of person she has been. They mean more to me than the air I breathe!

I am contacting the courts and my attorney today, sucks to have to do this, but their mother is too much of a negative influence. Just found out she hasnt filled my daughters prescription and shes gone without it. Last month she never took her to the doctor and by the time she was with me had gigantic ulcers from strep on her tonsils. Guess its time to sell some stock.

Wow man what an inspiration. You and your son! Amazing story, things get rough in life and you just have to push through it. I'm also from Ohio! Keep on moving brother your a tough one
