protein powders side effects..

IT is really a problem for me as I do get a lot of nasty gas due to those protein powders ...

What could be the culprit?

What could I do in order to prevent those side effects, i.e., farts...?
 
If your powder doesn’t already include it, try adding some bifidus, acidophilus, and yoghurt organisms to your diet. These tend to help those on high protein diets by providing more efficient protein absorption and promoting a healthier digestive system

Try taking ginger root - you can get capsules of ginger root wherever you get your vitamins (usually). One or two capsules (500-1000mg) with a high protein meal does wonders for digestion (and eliminating the gas!).
 
look at the side of the pack for the nutrititve composition per 100g.....how much of it is protein.

a good powder is 80-90% IMO.....the other crap in there makes you very gassy

my powder probably does contribute a little due to the high protein.....maybe try and spread the protein out thru the day?

Good advice. Ginger root does help with digestion.

Also, it could be the whey - some people have problems digesting whey protein.
 
i've started taking ginger root and it helps!

I also found that making sure i dont get too much protein at one sitting and no more than 40g in a 3 hour period and i'm fine
