My point was that people think this violence is an everyday occurence just because they're rappers, when in reality, it isnt. Yes, I realize that those you have listed off are rappers who have been killed. EZ was killed by aids, though...Pac, Biggie, these guys are like lennons of rap. Greats. I realize that more rappers have been murdered or killed then other artists from other genres, but I have no doubt in my mind that people think rappers are always caught up in this business when infact they are more likely to be working on a photoshoot. This murder, in the grand scheme of things, is very rare.
This is one of the aspects that I love about rap so much, that many of the best have died by the gun. Not just any rappers though, often the top ones. Pac, biggie, big L, Big Pun, Jam Master Jay, Proof....these guy's arent ordinaries and it really makes their stories that much more unique.
As Biggie once said, "you're nobody until somebody kills you"...proof wasnt a HUGE rapper, but his immortalization will begin now.
