Privacy issues board?

I like the idea. I would be all for it. I might even have a few things to offer to such discussions.

I like the idea. I've posted over here in the body building and the law fourm a few times but it doesn't get much traffic over here. But I'm going to try and stay a little more active in this fourm.

For what it's worth... we've considered setting up a Privacy board, along the lines of Bodybuilding and the Law, where this sort of thing would be kept separate from all AAS discussion. This thread is for suggestions about what such a board might look like. Here are a few ideas to start with....

Anyone participating would have to be aware of the subtleties involved in speaking about hypothetical situations.

Among other things we'd hammer on knowing your (US) Constitutional rights, compare and contrast US vs EU privacy laws and regulations, that sort of thing. And some practical matters... such as how to keep your kids from hacking into your Netflix account :qt: or opening those little red envelopes before you get home.

Very interesting stuff...any follow ups now that the idea is 2 months old?

Fifteen posts in two months = not exactly setting the board on fire; but we have some major renovations in the works, including technical upgrades, and once we have those new foundations laid we intend to consolidate and rework some of the existing boards. Therefore adding a privacy board would probably fit into that project.

Sounds good- thanks for the update Digger...

Privacy??

We have Privacy in the US?

Only if you are a Foreign Dignitary... :insane:

The first thing I thought when I saw this thread was "privacy" and I immediately thought of how people believe they can write anything from the privacy and safety of their home, anonymously without being known.
I'm sure most know this but I'll say it for the few non-savvy computer people out there still. Every time you log onto a site, post a comment, click on something, buy a product, there is a record of your IP, your personal computer fingerprint registered to you. If you're online, you're paying for it, or you have a registered computer, and the world knows who you are if they are interested in looking.
Constitutional rights and the US. I argue with a friend over this. I had a friend who got into a spot of trouble a few years back. Upon speaking with an attorney, the attorney said : You better make a deal. We haven't followed the Constitution since 9-11. Some may say that's shit, but when you have the all powerful US govt on your ass, with limitless resources, and they say they don't care to look at the facts & you simply better not piss them off by making them fight for a conviction, its a scary moment. And its a true scenario. I fear our govt more than I fear anything else. And I fear the lack of empathy, compassion, and integrity of our human kind towards one another. I do believe the prosecutors get jaded by the terrible cases they have to see, and get into the routine of winning at any cost, never at any personal risk to themselves. I ask myself if I were in their position, how could I possibly treat people fairly and punish only when deserving when I'm sure the big boss requires a win for the count. Its a terrible stacked deck and I'm not sure the prosecutors aren't just following orders and hate it, or if they get off on the power of destroying others.
And lastly, a site discussing legal problems seems a sticky thing. For the most part, I consider many comments on here to be for entertainment purposes. If I didn't think that, I'd be taking advice from a scrawny 19 year old with aspirations of greatness. Not to say that person may not develop a great physique, but my point is, what's the credentials of the person giving the advice and are you stupid enough to willingly take it?
Best wishes to all of course. I'm all for a passionate person striving for a goal. I just hope the energy is well spent and the idea is thought out equally well.
