Prevention of Strech Marks.....

Bullfrog

New member
Aloha,
I have looked at several of the message board threads and there is no subjects on preventing stretch marks.
Is there any prevention that I could do to oncoming stretch marks from the pectoral and lat area? Any procedure that I can use to help out would be greatly appreciated....

I don't understand how it would be possible. You could probably keep the severity down, but not completely control them.

By the way Bullfrog, enjoy your time in Bahrain:D Have fun with the Camel Spiders:D

Don't flame me if I'm way off here... But I swear I heard that Vitamin E helps reduce stretch marks... err.. prevent them...
I too am a victim of the stretch mark... Both arm pits are ripped where they connect to my tris and my left pec where is connects to my shoulder is just torn... For some reason I kind of like them... Motivation... If I get a stretch mark I know I'm doing something right...
My one buddy when he first started working out gained close to 2 inches on his arms in 4 months completely natural. Went from 13 1/2 " pipes to 15 1/2... Poor guy.. He has huge 1/2" thick stretch marks all the way down his bis... they are just sick... Pitty he stopped working out he has some damn good genetics

A thought

I just had one thought and I have no idea if it would work or not..
stretch marks are basically a build up of scar tissue right? caused by excessive stretching of the skin? So if they are a build up of scar tissue I wonder if treatment with Myofasical Release would break it up and possible return it to normal.. For those of you that dont know Myofasical Release its a version of massage that breaks up tissue and takes that elasticisity out of the skin and muscles... Just a thought.... opionions?

there is nothing proven to "prevent" stretch marks. but there are many topical creams and vitamins which can reduce them once you have them or they start to develop...

they are tears in the layer of dermis right below the skin.

I too have heard of Vitamin E and cocoa butter.

Weird thing...my left armpit/pec/bi has a few stretch marks and 1 huge mark. My right side has nothing. Anybody have any idea on that!?

My buddy said it was my right sided dominant tricep. WHo knows.

I have stretch marks on every muscle I can think of. Glutes, calves, quads, hams, chest, shoulders, biceps, triceps, forearms, lats, etc....

They fade with time...
