Dont we need a thread where we can list all our recommendations for specific beauty products? I'd love to read endorsements from other women that have actually used some of the good stuff I've either never heard of or never tried because I didnt have the money to risk on something I wasnt sure about.

I am currently using the $21.00 microderm abrasion kit from Loreal and it is definitely making a noticable difference. Easily worth the money.

Aveeno is my favorite moisurizer...I use it, Kids use it LOL.......we go through so much espcially in the winter when my oldest's ezxcema breaks out...

I'm big on Jafra products (similar to MaryKay)... My mom has used it for YEARS & her skin is beautiful even today - & she's 51 now. All of my sisters use it as well now. :qt:

Well my most favorite lip gloss ever, and ive tried oh 100 kinds lol! Sally Hansen Lip Quencher Daily Lip Moisturizer in clear nude. Its nice and shiney, and doesnt feel goopey, and looks really good over any lipstick or liner.

I use a flat iron in my hair a few times a week. Best hair product ( in my opinion ;)) is Matrix Sleek Look.

Oh i also like that Sally Hansen Spray on leg stuff hehe. I have a few scars on my legs that i hate, that does a decent job of blending them in.

Im sure theres lots more, im a sucker for new beauty products, and i loveeeeeee makeup. I like this thread.

#1 recommendation: For puffy eyes - MAC Fast Response Eye Creme. Best thing I've ever used!!!

- For skin care - I use mostly Origins products. Perfect World and Perfect World for Eyes, United State Toner, Matte Scientist Lotion during the summer (completely elimates greasy skin from heat, etc), Different World lotion at night, Well Off make-up remover and the Checks and Balances face wash.

- Make Up - Use all Mac products. Haven't found anything I like more and I've been through a bunch of different lines.

Makeup: Amen on MAC! but Chanel Pink Sugar is my favorite lipstick
Lotion: Cetaphil - not greasy and REALLy works
Lip balm: Aquaphor
Self-tanner: Neutrogena mousse in Extra Deep
Hairspray: Tigi Catwalk - holds great but not sticky at all
Shampoo: Aveda Blue Malva (for blonde hair)
Makeup removal: Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleansing Pads
Sunscreen: Skinceuticals Ultimate UV Defense - not greasy, doesn't cause breakouts, or eat away my self-tanner.

The best makeup ever invented comes out of Toronto, Canada, CoverFX. It doesn't even feel like you are wearing any makeup. It's hypoallergenic, oil-free, hyper pigmented (you use less of the product to cover more of your face), non-comedogenic, water resistant, and 100% fragrance free. I use CoverFX (foundation), MatteFX (matte finish oil- absorbing pressed powder), SettingFX (translucent loose setting powder), and BronzedFX (sunkissed bronzing powder). It looks and feels natural!

I mentioned CoverFX last month and I think it was Seashell who went out and purchased it as well. It's available in select areas of the US.

I use La Roche-Posay moisturizers, facial wash, sunscreen, and makeup remover. Their moisturizer is the only one I've used that doesn't cause my face to breakout. I believe in the US their products are sold under BIODERM. Although I've never tried BIODERM, they are supposedly the same.

MAC lip glass clear is the best, longest lasting lipgloss.

Really - what does it do?

As in brown spot like freckles?

Well the little beads in the lotion are aluminum silicate (sp?) which is the same stuff dermatologists use. It gradually over time actually removes the outermost epidermis, not just the dead layer though like loofah. So it should fade discolorations and freckes over time if you stay out of the sun during the treatments. Took me about a month to start seeing the difference.

Ouuuuuuu

Sounds good.
Thanks. :)

Makeup (blush, powder, eye wear, etc)
http://www.bareminerals.com

Aveda - lip gloss
Wet & Wild - lip gloss

Ponds cold cream - to remove make up
Otherwise I just use water.

Face creme (eye and face) - La Prairie (pricy but worth it)

cellular eye contour cream

cellular time release moisturizer

Cetaphil - great product - I go through phases with it and any other body lotion that strikes me but I don't have a favorite at this time.

Dove sensitive body wash and pantene thick and full for hair (classic is good too for drier hair).

My favorite hair products are:

Biolage by Matrix Ultra-Hydrating Shampoo
Biolage by Matrix Ultra-Hydrating Conditioning Balm

When I blowdry my hair straight I use Biolage Smoothing Shine Milk. When I feel like having a curly hair day I keep my curls bouncy using Biolage Curl Defining Creme.

Biolage products are very pricy but I've been able to find a hair salon that sells products on EBay at a much more reasonable price. I can buy 1 galloon bottles of shampoo and conditioner for $56.00/ea. including shipping. Regular price for 16.5oz. bottles at my local salon is over $25.00/ea.

I have curly hair that's dry and damaged. Or at least was. I've been using Biolage for almost a year now and my hair is much healthier and easier to tame.

I have overly sensitive skin and I'm allergic to almost everything. I've found one body wash that I am not allergic to and also smells wonderfully. In the past the ones I was able to use smelled horribly, almost institutional-like or just didn't smell at all. I use Vitabath shower gelle. Smells like jasmines.

Does anyone use a sugar scrub that they love? I found one by Vitabath but it smells disgusting. Any suggestions?

I've been using the same face wash for about 5 years and love it. It's Neostrata Foaming cleanser for combination skin. Doesn't dry out my skin and keeps it clear. Also I have been using the up-lifting firming anti-wrinkle cream by Neostrata since my 25th birthday!...guess I'll see if it works as I get older! It tingles a bit, but it isn't heavy or greasy on my skin.

Velvett, I'm convinced now. I keep hearing people swear by Pond's cold cream. I'm going to have to try it. I've been trying to save some money and it would be great if I could eliminate some of my Origins purchases.

Has anyone ever tried the Oil of Olay Regenerist line? I hear it's decent. This would help me cut costs.

I didn't include my hair products:
- Shampoo - Wella Color Preserve
- Conditioner - Pantene Moisture Renewal
- Hair Products if I do my hair curly - Catwalk Frisky Gel, Bed Head Rubber Rage, Bed Head After-Party
- Hair products if I do my hair straight - Catwalk Frisky Gel, Bed Head Girl Toys Shine Serum

Oh and I use Tone body wash... I love the smell and it leaves my skin feeling so soft.

Buff I also have curly hair that used to be dry and damaged. Biolage is the bomb, but like you said very expensive. I found the Loreal shampoo for color treated hair and the Loreal deep conditioner (in the small tub) worked probably 90% as well for like 20% the price of Biolage. You might give that combo a try.

Ive used Johnsons Baby Lotion for years , for eyemake up remover. I have to wear waterproof makeup, and this does a great job at taking it off, i also use it on my face sometimes. Its very cheap too!

A lot of my favorite stuff comes from Bodyshop or Clinique, as they are best for hypoallergenic stuff. I have very sensitive skin so i have to be careful what i use.

My favorite things are the teatree oil facial wash, and nut bodybutter both from BS :)

hazel, yeah that stuff from Body Shop is hardcore! :)

i love ALL the nut butters, can't decide, and it's an ass that they cost so much. ÂŁ8 a pop i think. the coconut was a fave, also the olive oil and melon ones'. the Body Shop have great products imo, especially their smellies :)

love their tobacco flower perfume, but it's discontinued :(

otherwise my mom was weaned me on Lancome products, which i adore. anyone have a Lancome opinion?

I just started this yesterday - hope I see the same results you did.

;)

I've bought really expensive face wash/lotion since HS...all different department store brands. Then one weekend I forgot it all while out of town with my parents and used my mom's cetaphil stuff. My skin has never looked or felt better. I love both.

I'm hooked on Mary Kay foundation which surprised the hell out of me since I've been using $40+ a bottle stuff for years. This stuff is just the best. I like a lot of their stuff.

For lipstick I like aveda. For lipgloss I love origins but for mega shine it has to be MAC lipglass (though I find it a little sticky and my hair seems drawn to stick in it).

Shampoo and other hair products are all aveda. I love it because even on my drive home from work at night, when my hair falls in my face it smells SO good!

rottenwillow - Thanks much for the coupon. I am looking forward to going and getting this soon and giving it a try. When do you use it, in the morning, or at night? Or both??

For most of my make-up, I use clinique. I haven't found an eyeshadow that I love yet, so I am still on the search for that.

For all my body, shampoo/conditioner products I use H20...they have got the BEST body salt scrubs. I use mine for shaving, too sometimes and my legs get INCREDIBLY smooth. I also use H20 lotions and shower gels. They have got really good foot lotion and foot soak, too!!

For hair styling, I use Aveda...Smoothing Fluid for when I straighten my hair (pretty much every day) and then the anti-humectent stuff for humid days so that my hair doesn't turn into a frizz ball...

Skin care - ProActiv Solutions
Facial mask - Clinique
Facial lotion - Oil of Olay
SPF protection/foundation - bareMinerals by Bare Escentuals
Makeup - Loreal, Max Factor, Lorac
Nail polish - OPI
Shampoo/Conditioner - Garnier Fructis
Mousse - Citra Shine
Hair texturizer - Joico, Biolage
Hairspray - Garnier Fructis
Body wash - Caress
Body lotion - Victoria's Secret

Still nothing moisturizes skin better than baby oil or vaseline.. to bad it's so greasy

I have a question then: I am currently using this prescription stuff for my acne (Klaron), and I am supposed to use it two to three times a day also. I am currently using that in the morning and before bed. What would you recommend me to do with this stuff then? Maybe use each one once a day??? Thanks!

Well the product I recommended was for pore refinement. I dont know that it will help you with your acne at all so I wouldnt suggest you reduce the dosage of your perscription med. As for the pore refiner I believe 2x daily is recommended for best results. :)

Hmmm...well, I could use a pore refinement, too...and I have some red scars that I would like to eliminate also...my acne is getting better, but maybe I will give it a try in a little while, after i can reduce my usage of the prescription stuff. Thanks so much for all your input! Karma to you :)

Glad to help. :)

And hey look at that! I hit you back and it gave it a second dot.....arent you excited! :lmao:

Are you seeing good results?

I've only used it twice and so far I like it, tomorrow morning will be the third. I'll let you know if I see changes in the next two or so weeks.

I could have sworn that it said to used 2-3 times per week - I'll have to go back and read that.

agreed! I use Vaseline to remove remnants my eye makeup sometimes... sometimes I step out of the shower/finish washing my face and look like a raccoon. :D

I love trying new products but these are the ones that have stuck...

hair: bumble and Bumble ($$$ but I got about 5 other people hooked on it also and we all swear by it)
Face: Yonka (all natural and smells great)
Makup: MAC!!
Body: Aveno (positively smooth lotion smells great and is light/in winter the heavy oatmeal stuff works. plus it is one of the only things I can use when my sensitive skin gets unexplainable rashes)
nails: winter red: essie (final answer)
summer pink: opi (perubi(sp) ruby)
Hand lotion: Aveda (much needed for winter in New England :) )

My fav lately include natural stuff...

http://www.sukisnaturals.com/ I like the moisturizer for acne-prone skin (I seem to be breaking out more lately; hormonal + stress I think). Suki makes products also which are not for acne-prone people... Like the carrot moisturizer... Suki's stuff is mostly organic, which is cool, righ?

I wash my face with Cetaphil (for normal/combo skin) to get makeup off and then use Suki's cleanser of lemongrass. It's like a scrub and wash in once. And the stuff smells sooo good! Then I use the moisturizing oil.

I have done some research on skin care and I am led to believe that all these toxins which we put on our skin (most skin care products) within time lead to the wrinkles and skin problems... My boyfriend pointed out once that he does not want to eat all this lipstick when kissing me as he thought is was poisonous (or toxic.. especially if too much), so I took his words into consideration... For lips I use Burt's Bees stuff... Actually, I bought him the carrot moisture oil from Suki and he's been using it on his face. He loves it!

For burt's bees:
www.burtsbees.com

Burt's Bees use products that are so natural and clean that you can actually eat them. I saw a video for Burt's Bees and the co. claims that unless you can actually eat the ingredients, they're not put into their products.

Burt's Bees repair serum is great too... Though I am not sure if it's the reason I broke out a bit more (maybe?). Some red acne spots I have disappeared almost with the use of this serum..

The thing about natural products is oils: Lots of essential oils. What's cool is that you need only a drop or two for moisture, so the products last a long time.

After using Burt's Bees repair serum, my skin overall became a lot better. Great for use at night, yet a bit too greasy for me for day time (I bet b/c I always use too much of it; can't get enough! LOL). Now that it's winter, if anyone has dryness issues, essential oil products can most likely help ;-)

Hair... Silk Results.
Nails: Nailtique (nail protein)... my nails have always been natural and strong.
Make up foundation, powder, concealer: Biotherm (hard time finding natural stuff that stays on well and which doesn't feel like a mask). www.biotherm.com
Eyes: Fav: Mac and Chanel
Lips: Fav: Givenchy and Christian Dior's Addict line... though I don't wear it much b/c it's not natural (I don't want to eat it all the time, especially cause I eat every 2 hrs).
Masks: Face: Burt's Bees... SOOO cool: You mix it yourself: It's a powder... Just add a fluid to make it... Really does a nice job for pores.

Will try that microderm kit soon ;-)

I recommend that everyone browses Suki's site... Very informative... For instance:

I'm also a fan of Burt's. I have several of their products. Good call :)
