It doesn't to me. Everything dealing with computers looks like Chinese.

All I know is that I have a 2.8 Ghtz processor and it is so much faster than the Crapple iMac I had. I had to retrieve some info from my Mac the other day and I got so frustrated. I can't believe I kept that machine for so long.:mad:

For comparison - a 56K modem will give around 56 kbps both upstream and downstream (in a perfect world) so yeah, yours is quick. I would assume from the numbers you have cable or ASDL

mine said 696 13 times faster than 56k That`s all it sid. I had to find another test location due to busy original ones.

Thats cause I just moved to a new neighborhood. Where I used to live I got around ~240 KB/S download because almost everyone there had cable modem. Here I think I am pretty much it.

I did it with each of the locations:

256K down and 128K up for me.
I didn't bother going to the tests.
I'm on ADSL and there is an associated overhead with it.

The frame relay at work is 128K both ways and it has very little overhead on it and still only got 108K on the tests I did on it.

ADSL at 256K can get as low as 64K at times.

It is so sensitive to so many things (heat, distance, load, settings, etc) that it isn't a constant figure in the real world.

In the end, my connection is expensive and slow compared to that which you can get in the States.

mdd, it might be because you are using wireless. When you took the test were the other computers online too? Take this test again using the computer hooked directly to the cable line. If thats not the case make sure your bandwith is not being hijacked by your neighbors.
