Pork vs. Chicken

Madd Hatter

New member
I am beyond irate. Up to 6 months ago I paid $10 or $11 for a HUGE pack of 10-12 chicken breasts. Today I paid $3.69 a POUND!!! And that was after driving all over town and getting it the cheapest I could! So a big FU to the low-carb craze, my local grocery store who stopped selling the packs, and everything else responsible.

Anyway, I'm seriously considering buying pork instead, for about $1 a piece. I'm told these prices are much higher as well, but still better than paying for chicken.

From a nutrition viewpoint, discuss please. We're talking boneless, skinless, comparable size, throw on the foreman grill and eat with a baked potato for dinner here. Also from a taste standpoint. I do not eat red meat, and only eat fish, turkey and chicken. Any chance I can choke this stuff down?

For sure you can choke it down. I would go with pork tenderloin though since it's the cut with the lowest amount of fat. Grill that sucker up, it tastes pretty damn good.

I like the center cut pork chops as they aren't as tough.....They are very tasty....I like pork & eat it often...

Ya is there like a chicken OPEC? Chicken totally wins over pork though. Helps if you buy in bulk from places like Costco etc.

Blame the news for reporting all these new atkins-esk diets as the new hip thing to do as the cause for all your meat prices to go up. You can get some great deals on bread though :)
