Plats!!! Who the hell are we??

wtlftr....dude, you're gonna need to bump up that bench and dead weight, that's hella weak!. LOL. Are you really puttin that up, cuz if so, that's pretty awesome.

dirty~d~....thanks for such a thorough bio! You seem to be an extremely active woman. On a side note....maybe you can answer a question for me about sharks. This last Monday I went bodysurfing with some friends at Stinson Beach (California, Bay Area). There were shark warnings advising not to go out deeper than like 3 or 4 feet of water, however we were chasing the big waves which were breaking further out. A couple of days later, I told some other friends about our day at the beach, and he told me that I was f*ckin' crazy for swimming out there. He made mention that this area (close to Farallone islands) was like one of the major breeding grounds for great white sharks in the world! Is this true? I mean, I like doing things with a certain element of danger, but not to the point where I'm basically shark food wating to be plucked. Just how at risk did I put myself that day?

You're at risk anytime you swim in known areas for shark activity. If a GW can tell you're not a seal they'll pretty much leave you alone, but the main risk to surfers and bodyboarders is the fact that seals play in the waves just like we do. Eventually it can lead to mistaken identity on behalf of the shark. If seals use those same waters I'd suggest keeping an eye on them for signs of sharks. They'll know if one is swimming by before you do. Breeding habits of GWs are not well known. How he knows about this 'breeding ground' has me curious. If I stayed out of the water everytime I thought there was a threat of being bitten by a shark I'd never go in. It's a risk we take when we play in their yard. PM me anytime you have more questions. I'm no expert, but I do enjoy talking about them. :)

Thanks....I'll play it a little safer from now on. BTW...there were seals playing around us about 20 yards away.

yeah 003 I'm lifting it. Used to be a bit stronger on bench, but used a bench shirt. DL should be about 630 by Xmax

I'm a 26 year old fitness model from the south jersey shore. I like to lift weights, run, and, of course, I like the beach. I have a german shepard and my husband is a cop. My daughter will be 3 yrs old this month.

Hey, thanks for the complement. Those are really bad pics though. A friend took them at a lingerie contest I competed in this past spring at a casino in Atlantic City. I didn't even place though. - The fitness look is slow to come to the mainstream as being sexy. especially when the judges are all over-the-hill and like the sickly thin girls w/ NO boobs! Anyhoo!, I'm having a new portfolio done in a couple months. Probably after I rip down a little. I'll post em' as soon as I get em' done. ;)

Cool, looking forward to it.

A little about me:

I'm originally from Vancouver, BC, Canada, but I was accepted into a business school in NYC. So for 10 months of the year, I live in the States, while the other 2 months I live back in Vancouver.

I'm 19 years old, been training for a few years. I know about the long term sides it can add to my natural testosterone count, however, I am already screwed in that department from different reasons. So I felt that I could go on AAS without any long term sides that I wouldn't have already gotten.

Welcom bro...thanks for posting up. Sorry to hear about that bro....so what is it, just naturally low test production?

I had cancer when I was very young, so I lost one of my testicles. Test levels have been low ever since. I can still get the girls pregnant, so that's not a problem.

my natural test levels are low, barely get morning wood. I need a boost. Gonna get me some ANDRO. just a JOKE about the andro

Aw man, sorry to hear that. But good to hear the Cancer's gone and everything is in working order!

Yeah, funny enough, I've never spoken about this for at least 10+ years. I guess that's the good part about this website, no one knows who you are in life. I was young was I was diagnosed, so I don't remember too too much. I remember the chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Those weren't too fun. Awell.

Oklahoma city- 26 year old logistical software specialist. BA from the University of Oklahoma. Um...i love cats. I drive a BMW. I am single. I love online gaming. I love spending time in the gym.

Thanks bro...good to be here. This is actually a very interesting thread in it's entirety. Quite a cross-section of the population comes to EF...not just personal trainers and bodybuliders ;).

Well - I've actually been a plat for close to a year. I read the board all the time, but barely ever post. I always learn something though.

Me - 31 y.o. project manager from Houston, TX. I ride a black H-D Fat Boy, and drive a 4x4 Jeep.

6'2", 205 lb. About 12-13% BF. Have been lifting weights for about 6 years - and I'm 20 pounds heavier than when I started, but still not big by anybody's standards.

And the name - Chesau - a nickname I got when I was 21 after being realllly wasted and seeing my first bottle of Icehouse. "What is this Chesau crap?" Never lived that down........

Anyway - nice to meet everybody. I'll try to post more.

Most people just call me "G". I am 23 years old and I live in Wisconsin. I have a beautiful wife and a 5 year old daughter. She is the coolest damn kid in the world I swear. I own my own biotech business. We do custom robotics applications, custom racking, equipment rebuilds, supply parts, and help develop customers' methods and chemistries. I am still attending college when I have time. I am currently a 3rd year junior. Too many opportunities fell into my lap that I couldn't pass up, so school took the back burner for a while. I play lead guitar in a band. We have released two CDs and we are signed by a label out of New York. I would love to give out the name, but I don't want too much info about me open on this particular board. I am an avid sport-biker and I ride as much as I can when I am not working, hanging with the fam, or gigging.

Damn bro....looks like you've got a lot going for you. Good shit. What's your lifting background like? Goals?

I started lifting in 7th grade to prep for football in high school. I lifted religiously trough high school, and then took about 2 years off when i started college. Then I realized I was getting weak and feeling small and started lifting heavy again. My goal is to reach 250lbs at 8%BF. I should be able to reach this by the end of next summer.

Isn't this quite the long thread.

Hey! I live in the vacinity of Prescott, Arizona. I'm 31 and have a little boy who will turn 5 in March. I'm divorced (41/2 years ago) but am currently living with a big hunk of a man. I'm the outdoors type - love camping, hiking, exploring in general. I have very little fear, which sometimes gets me in to trouble. I love to travel - just got back from Belize, Central America, where I hiked up a lot of really tall Mayan temples. (check out my pic gallery - you'll see how freakin' big they are.) Boyfriend is setting me up on a new, more intense workout routine. I'm setting him up on a better diet.

ZXE,

A couple light cycles. Test & Deca only. It took me forever to break 200 lbs and hold it. I'll be happy at a lean 220 or so.

L4 / L5 is herniated, so too much body weight does me absolutely no good at this point, and heavy squats went right out the window last year.

But - you have to keep plugging away!

Wow...that's fuckin awesome! That is definitely something my wife and I would like to do (climb the Mayan temples). Can't wait till we're rich and money is no object, so we can travel often. You and your friends look to be in pretty good shape in those pictures. Good stuff. Welcome and hope you stay active on this site.

hi everyone, my name is chad, im 25 and im an alcoholic. jk. just feels kinda like an a.a meeting.

Im from caruthersville, mo. I was in the marine corps for 5 yrs and now im in school in cape girardeau tryin to finish a degree in industrial engineering and i just got a job waitin tables for xtra cash at logans roadhouse. I've enjoyed lifting since the marine corps. Last year i had the pleasure of meeting clint darden and got me into strongman from which i did 2 contests last year. I had a surgery (kidney transplant) earlier this year and im just now gettin back to training bc i got lazy afterwards and lost motivation for a while. Other than strongman(anything that requires me to push my body further than i think is possible) and reading these boards, i like anything outdoors ie: swimming, riding atv's, hunting, football. i also like to drink, party, hang out with friends and travel (and the occasional relaxation blunt :p ). Until recently moving to school i had 2 dogs (american pit bull terriers) which are the best dogs ever and hopefully will one day have a house full of em..lol

King-awesome with the strongman shit! What kind of bullies did you have? Color/Build? One of my close friends has a kennel here in CA. He was previously co-owner of cutthroat kennels and then broke off, but they've got some great bloodlines from Razor's Edge and Gotti. When they get their new site up I'll post it.

thanks man...and one of my dogs was 95lb rednose that was white w/chocholate patches and a big puppy had some bolio in him but not sure of the others....my other dog was a 45lb brindle female. i kinda adopted her from someone that didnt take care of her. she was a game bred dog(not what i usually like) but she was the best do i've ever had and she was a addicted to the springpole like it was crack. she could look out the window and see it and her back end would start twitchin. thats awesome bout ur buddy...i'd like to see some pics when ya get em...bc i've already decided that when i do get another dog it will probably be razors edge. i really love the bodytype of those dogs and the ones i've seen have great temperments also.

I love this site. All this information at my fingertips and platinum powers.

Welcome to the new faces I see up in here!!!

I just signed-up for platinum today after spending a couple of weeks on the boards as a non-plat user. Love the information and love the networking -- i'm impressed!

I'm 37, 3 kids. Live in the Northwest Chicago suburbs. Hobbies include lifting and computing (both applications and games, mostly online stuff).

Just finishing my first HRT cycle (legal one) and about to do a more aggressive (but legal) cycle starting Jan 2. I'm 6' 2.5" and 237 with around 10% BF. Would loooove to break my unexplicable bench barrier of 345 -- been stuck there for years and year. Hoping this next cycle (my first "real" cycle) will do it!

Thanks,

mrplunkey

Better late than never, and needless to say.. at the back of the bus, and by the looks of it I finally get to ride the long bus and get off the short bus.

24, living in Atlanta, originally from Fort Worth, Texas...'born and raised' as the cliche goes. Went to Auburn for 6 yrs., met my fiance there, who I have been with for 3 and a half years and the wedding is in April. And I am with Raina on the fact that I can't wait to escape from Reality for just a little bit, the gym and some random books by Wilbur Smith are what I like to dive into to escape. I work in Atlanta for a major insurance broker, on the wholesale side of the company for those that know the difference.

I am absolutely loving life right now, eat, sleep, play soccer/golf on weekends along with watching college and pro football. Just got hooked on Fantasy Football, its addicting, but it wears off as the season goes on (and you realize that you aren't winning for the playoffs, lol).

Raina, my fiance's home office is in St.Paul... I haven't been up there yet, but she goes quite frequent and she tells me how cold it gets in the winter, but she enjoys the town.

Thats all I can spill for now.

I was about to say no one has posted on this thread for a year....but it's still 2004. :worried:

I am a 26 yr old canadian living on the Gold Coast in AUS doing a law degree (JD) focusing on International Trade. I've been a student for 8 years and have a BA and a MA in political science. My academic interests range from the World Bank's Poverty Reduction Programs (my thesis) to Foucault and Aristotle.

I've been training for 11 years and competed in the WNSO nationals in Canada (2003) and placed 3rd in the welter div. I've been on the boards for about year checking things out and I've found some good information for the most part.

After moving to AUS my training has been in a lull and I need to get the hunger back. As training is big part of life and very important to me, I'm a little concerned about how things have been going.

Haven't found a good gym or good training partner. I usually train alone but a good partner can make up for poor facilities sometimes...enuff bitching!

I thought going platnium might let me meet some people and find new resources.

hisback-Wow....I think if I understood even half of what you do, I would be even more thoroughly impressed than I already am! I think it's awesome that you are able to combine the worlds of academia and physical sport, breaking through the common stereotypes that are associated with each.
smaller-Equally wow...great to have you aboard. I hope you find the inspiration and motivation you seek for your training. I know that these boards have definitely provided this for me at times when my training was in a rut. Hit up WalkingBeast and ask him about the KTSA if you don't already know about it. I'm sure you'll find some extra "drive" there.

Hey guys,
Well Im from bangor, Maine. Im 23 yrs old and Im currently a senior at UMO, biochemistry major. After I graduate I am planning on going to medical school. I keep getting a message saying Im not a platinum member? But if I can post here then I must be right?

I'm 37 years old and, no, this really isn't my first post. I posted for years under "billycool", but due to some, um, marital issues had to take some time off and have come back with a new ridiculous name. I'm a stockbroker and have a 7-year old son and 5-year old girl. I'm looking to get another cycle going to try and am considering test and var. Anybody that might like to add anything, feel free to chime in.

Hey all my name is John, I'm a student at the University of Missouri, I'm gonna graduate in May 2005 with a degree in Business Management. I've played football since I was in 7th grade played two years of college football, and had to stop because of constant shoulder injuries due to bad genetics! I've done 4 very simple cycles, usually one or two drugs.

I've getting ready to do my most advanced one if all my gear gets here, but things aren't looking good, don't know if it got seized or my source that I've used every time has screwed me on my largest order. (over $1000)

anyone else from the midwest?

I spent several hours last night just doing some background work and am just amazed at the wealth of info. The members here seem to be on the ball and know their stuff. I just hope to take advantage of their knowledge and apply it to my training, supps, diet, etc...

Married too. Product Developer

Well, I'm 33 years old, and live and work in Washington DC as just another cog in the machine. Been lifting since I was 13 on and off. Was a competetive swimmer from the age of 6 until I was 20. Did triathlons for about 2 years after that, then kickboxing until i was 30. Got some serious injuries after being hit by a drunk driver while I was on a bicycle, so until the last year, I have not been lifting too hard. However, that is changing right after I get back from Germany after this consulting trip is over. Spent 9 years as a Naval officer, and have a Masters in Radiation Physics. I am single with no kids, as I enjoy going on the prowl a bit too much for serious relationships.

Researching my first cycle now, and I plan to begin it in about another month.

Anyone else out there from the DC area?

I'm 38, I've been with Kodak in field service for five years, Ex Navy, Desert Storm vet. I live in Pensacola, FL with my wife of 16 years. I spend most of my free time either yakking away at this keyboard or honing my skills on a billiards table. Oops, almost forgot to mention, I work out, too :)

Just got Plat. I'm 45, 3 kids, georgeous wife, dance music promoter, night club owner, only back to bodybuilding after a 6 year break for football. Have trained on and off for 25 years. Love this site, has helped me get back with ease that's why I got Plat. Learned much here and looking forward to building the best body of my life no matter about age... Gh the fountain of youth.. :p

What an awsome thread! I'll pitch my 2cent in! Nice to meet all of you guys.

I'm living in Northern Idaho where I go to to college...actually i'm graduating this week with a Criminal Justice degree!! *finals are kickin my ass!!!!**...I had two this morning and brain is fried!! Its all good since I have a day to recover before I take 2 more! Anyways...i'm hoping to go to Law School after this. I did my 4 in the service...it was awsome...and now I play the weekend warrior role! All in all life is treating me good. I'm 25...soon to turn 26...i'm 5'6"...180 lbs...lifting turned into passion. It started out as a stress relief...and before I knew it I was addicted! Lifting is like coffee.....I start gettin all moody if I don't hit the gym or the get the java. I'm a way laid back guy...I enjoy the hell out of reading these boards....there is some real good stuff in them. Its kind of funny...everyone seems to have their own opinions on whats right and wrong....but for the most part i've been able to find a steady line of truth to what these brohams have to say. So with that i'm outy...nice meeting you guys....i'm sure i'll be runnin into ya in some other posts. Stay up fellas!

Looking forward to travelling and seeing as much of the world as I can before I get too old.

Hey nycgirl,

I actually just got back from a 6 week vacation in Europe. Spent most of my time in Germany, but also visited Croatia, Poland, Italy, Greece, Holland, Ukraine and Russia. Traveling rocks! If I didn't take a at least a one month block of vacation per year, I think my DC government job would drive me nuts! :coffee:

Hi!

I'm 33, a SAHM (stay at home mom) to 2 boys aged 4 and a little over 1. I have never been into working out, and when hubby bought us a gym membership I drug myself in 2x a week just to make him happy (and the oldest boy LOVED the kids area). I was interested in weight lifting, but didn't really think *I* could do it until I came across Krista's site www.stumptuous.com . I decided to really give it a shot... and I LOVE it! I can't wait to go lift in the AM. I am there 6 days a week, and would go on Sunday's too if I didn't have church.

I had to needle hubby for a week to let me go platinum. LOL.

Lestat checking in

28 years old, San Diego. Work for a fortune 500 company in Information Technology.

Lift 3 days a week, cardio 2 days a week. 6'2" 190 right now.. about 9% bf.

Just kidding

I think you all already know my name
32 live in a hell hole called Decatur, IL where I work for a agricultural company doing Oracle work for a research dept (makes no sense does it??)

I have a Bachelor of Music in performance from Centenary College of Louisiana and a CS Minor. I never finished because IT and Computer Science are 2 totally different fields. I then moved to new orleans to work at an Internet Service and became the first local company to sell DSL in New Orleans. Anyway I've been an IT geek for the last 11 years , so I know a little something about the game.

I played 3 sports from 6th grade till grad and then played some college ball. I've been working out off an on since the 6th grade as well so I'm really getting back into what I know as being in good shape.

Friends, I'm new here also so I thought I let you know about me. I'm 61 ( Yes, I'm officially an OLD FART!) Been married almost 37 years to a good woman who puts up with a lot of shit from me! Two grown children who live in the SF Bay area. I live in a suburb of St. Louis. Been here all my life. Gonna retire in approx. 1 year and get out of here. Wanna go someplace that doesn't have or freezing rain. Maybe live on a beach somewhere. Was A couch potato the first 45 years of my life with a few forays into fitness. Decided I better do something, so I got into weightlifting. I absolutely love it!
Just finished my first real cycle; been on HRT before. Working towards my first BB competition, maybe at the end of this year. Looking to replace Arnold as a BB icon! :mix:

First and foremost, You seasonedVet, are my HERO!!!!! You are the man!!!

Secondly, I am now in my early thirties, married (again) with 4 kids, Owner of Engineering firm, trained extremely hard from 17 to 27 and I suppose went through some times there with my first ex-wife that I had my first son with, then only worked out off and on through the problems, but now have been back at it, nice and solid for awhile.... (New to Platinum and am very excited to taking myself back to the old self)

I'm a 22 year old Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) technician in the Air Force. I've been living in Germany for the last two years and have a little over another to go. I am married with a one year old daughter and I have studied on training/nutrition for a few years for sports origanally, but over the last few months I have been lured into the serious bodybuilding aspect of training and am trying to learn all I can to develop my ideal physique.

Damn, its cool reading about everyone...

I am 44 from LA (the city, not the state...) and am an airline/airport consultant freelance (yea...I know they can use all the help they can get...)

I was never much into sports and looked like shit when I got married at 26. I got introduced to lifting a couple years ago and managed to stick with it long enough that I can't imagine not being in the gym anymore. I LOVE it. The fringe benefits are nice too...I've never looked better in my life. Good thing too...recently divorced and its nice to be chased after by future-ex-Mrs-Rights.

Went to Oregon State (GO BEAVERS!) and have a degree in Business.

I dont post much but I was browsing through all kinds of links today and this link just made me want to POST. Im 28 and in Colorado Springs, CO. Im former military, former collegiate Div I football player (UCLA), but currently want to get bigger and stronger. The military made me run too damn much!
Anyway, I love being a part of elitefitness and Im hoping to get to know some of its members. The resources and information are superb and I think its just what I need to get back into bodybuilding shape.
Im currently about 260lbs but way too much bodyfat ( about 22%) and am 6'2. I plan on posting some measurements soon, but first Im working on my routine. Later!

Brand new here, thought this would be a good first post.
My name is Brian, I'm 28, live in Minnesota. I'm in the army & outside of training live to hunt, fish, water ski, and generally have a good time with life. Been training for a while with a year long break due to shoulder injury. Seriously looking at getting on my first cycle in the next couple weeks. EF is a great place for info with a lot of experience.

I was browsing through the threads and came across this one and thought what a great idea!

So hello! I am 25, single but very involved and live in Orlando. I am currently a criminal paralegal, but intend on applying to law school this fall. I love working out, it is just that release that you need at the end of the day. I have been seriously working out for six years now. I got into it from doing the BFL. Although I didn't win I did gain a great respect for proper nutrition and exercise and have stuck with it ever since. ;)

I'm Gordon, 24, from Columbus Ohio. Evil computer programmer by day... evil computer programmer by night, actually. Been lifting for three years now.

not telling my real name,
I am marred I have 3 kids 6,2,and 5 mouths,.I am a pipe insalaiter I make 50 dollers an hour.for the last 11 years I was a cook wich I still love to do.I was in the army for 4 years and got out in jan of last year do to an injury caused by a rpg.I hve bin in some sort of recovery ever sence then.my stats are 5'9 230lb 15%bf bench 220x6 squat 600lbx6 milatary press 190lbx8 cant stand the dead lift but I should start ussing it in my roittein.Iam on my last weeks of a bulk cycle and will be starting my rip shortly.my goul is 200lb with 8or9%bf.

Mike, 31, married for 2 years.

Firefighter/Paramedic for the past 10 years, and for the rest of my life.

I used to lift 4-5 days a week; now it seems I've progressed into mountian biking, martial arts, and rock climbing, and haven't seen the inside of a gym in well over a year.

6'1 185lbs. When I was lifting.

Now a svelte 170. ;) Gotta do something about that.

Always worried about snoops but a little info can't hurt. Way older than most of you, live in a large state, with children, 180 #, 8.5% bf, technology world and every set is to failure - why else would you go to the gym - and everything that hits my mouth - food or water - is calculated for the day.

Trent, 20, Single White Aussie.

Been snooping around here and training on and off for a few years, finally have the motivation to make a life adjustment and train my ass off. I have all of you to thank! Anyone who has posted progress, motivations, advice, info or pics has motivated me to apply what I've been learning at uni to myself!

A couple of years off of being a qualified nutritionist and dietician, food is definately a strength over something like training. Not only will reaching a new level of strength and fitness help me in a personal sense, but I figure if I'm going to be telling people what to eat then I'd better look like I know what I'm talking about!!!! Currently experimenting on myself with a meal addition to bulk.

G'day :chomp:

I'm not new to the boards, just new to being a Plat. member.. I'm 32, from Southeast Texas. been lifting on and off for 12 years. just thought i'd say, what up!

bump for the new plats.. tell us your story.
