phone sex line takes advantage of mentally impaired man

A mentally impaired man was sent a phone bill for $26,000 after spending 2 consecutive days on a phone sex line. The telephone company will not claim any responsibility and the phone sex line operator has refused to claim any responsibility, leaving the family of the man responsible for forking out the $26,000.

That is seriously fucked up. Poor bloke was stiffed.......literally.

Hmmmmmmmm.... havent seen HappyScrappy on here for a couple days.

Coincidence?

At least he got to talk to someone who was REALLY interested in what he had to say. Not many of us can say that. Did he talk like a retard?

He wasn't 'obviously' retarded when they interviewed him, but you could tell he was 'different'.

Must have been hard to tell the difference, besides after 2 days listening to chicks masturbating, any man would be dribbling.

what a dumbass!

Looks like his ass better get a couple more jobs.

That's a bit harsh. The guy was impaired and they took advantage of him. While it may have been hard to tell at the time he was on the call, the phone company should cut him a break and put some measures in place to prevent this from happening again.

I can understand that, but the guy purchased $26,000 dollars worth of service. Is this company suppose to take this loss simply because they guy "may have" lacked certain mental capacities?

Maybe they could set him up on a payment plan or something. I do agree they should put in measures that would prevent this in the future.

Dunno about you guys in the US but here this wouldn't valid since a mentally challenged or a child can't make a contract unless some special curcumstances......
