I've been thinking about doing some personal training on the side for a bit of extra money. The only thing that really held me back is I heard you needed to have a bachelor degree in the field in order to be able to train people.
Today I was fucking around and found this site...
http://americanmuscle.golinq.com/store/
For $39.95 you can receive American Muscle and Fitness certificate that shows that you are a certified personal trainer... all done on-line.
Take a look.
What I have been thinking about doing is running ads in local papers to recruit clients. Now that I can throw in the 'certified personal trainer' I don't see why I couldn't make money.
I'm 25, have been lifting for 10 years and working out for 20. My mom's an Ironman... my dad cycles around the world, so I've always been around this kind of stuff. Also, my physique would convince people that I know what I'm doing. Unlike some bloated turds you see walking around in the gym 'training' people.
I've never understood that.
Anyway... if you are a personal trainer or have any knowledge on this kind of shit... please give me your .02 on this one.
