People you hate doing business with....

we all know i'm the opposite of PC(but i can get away with it), so don't expect anything less of this thread.

but...

indians, arabs and chinese people are THE worst to do business with. 99% of them

never had so many headaches, so much nickel and diming in my life. time after time. I don't make any judgements, but time and time again these people prove what pains in the asses they are. All want something for nothing. And not just in mortgages and real estate, but in other industries i've been in. When i see "Ali or muhammed" i don't even want to pick up the phone. They also think everyone is always out to screw them

black people are actually great, at least in my biz. some of my favorite/closest clients are black, usually church folk. usually in bad situations and just want you to help them. they don't nickel and dime at all.

Hispanics are the same...you build a relationship with them, and they're yours. but usually you have to be hispanic yourself, and 50% of the time speak spanish.

white people and europeans are great too, for the most part.

Most of the time it's cultural differences, that nickel and diming is just how they do business small, large or just personal necessities. (And of course some people are just cheap and want something for nothing but they come in all colors.)

What really drives me is when someone hires me to do a job for them and they can not make any kind of decision or commitment without consulting all their family and friends about something that 90% of time their friends and family know nothing about or have no or little comparable experience. It always leads to unnecessary arguments and a breakdown in the long term relationship.

I also find that the majority of housewives that have never worked to be very difficult to deal with (too much time on their hands) while others can be so efficient, organized and on the ball that I'm just in awe.

I try to only take jobs with people that I can find common ground with and them with me otherwise there always seems to a tendency for misunderstanding or resentment when the pressure is on, no matter how clear you try to be with what you do and say. I'd rather make less money and have better clients but sometimes you don't have that luxury available to you. I also find that referrals from people that you like to work with to be of better quality as well.

Dr.'s wives are the worse.

But, I think you nailed with the "have never worked".

I have done a lot of work for people who have come from wealthy families. They are the worse to get the money from.

For the last 4 years I'd say 98% of my business was referral based. I did very well with hardly any effort, like 3 hours of actual work per day. Now I'm back to the crap CW is talking about and it can be maddening. The lack of common sense people in general have is awe inspiring.

I dont deal with any blacks because blacks dont deal with blacks. They are afraid of the other brother making money. fucking so stupid we are.

When I had my own renovation biz, the biggest nightmares were Italians, Arabs and Slavs. The worst out of these 3 were Arabs.

The nicest most cooperative clients we had were Jewish. Complained, but always paid their bills (in cash) and always ref me to many other jobs.
About 90% of my client base was Jewish.
Now I'm dating one, but he never gives me cash ;-)

Vel, you're right, the women we had to deal with who didn't work were horrid.
Oh yeah and my ex off 11 yrs left me for one our bored little housewife clients,......LOL...!

True. I last Dr. I worked for started and insurance company for Dr's yrs. ago. He is worth 10's of millions. He was so fucking cheap.

But, his wife was the one who made all the decisions and did anything extra she could.lol

it's funny because alot of those jerkoffs are usually in biz themselves. i ask them...and relate it to their industry, "would you do/sell <whatever they do> for free?". usually shuts them the fuck up, unless they're a moron. which is often the case

I'm totally surprised - I had no idea.

I have a very ethnic but not highly recognizable last name and people of similiar background have come to me based on my name and assumed background. In the past I was offer jobs that I was not qualified for just because of my last name, because I was considered "one of them".

I was just going to make a blanket statement about people that want something for nothing, especially after you have an ongoing business relationship.

i've had some bad experiences w/indian and jewish people

i think Asians are the best, dont know why you had a hard time
i mean they ask a lot of questions but they spend a lot
they look for quality=more money=higher commission for me= :)
Eropeans are great...mostly cash ....

indian and jewish clients gave me the run around, had to drop not my worth my time

I"m not going to make sweeping generalizations........but two years ago i formed a company with my father and we were going to market an Israeli product. Turned out to be a complete farce. Because of how he got connected with them, he took them at their word for what their product was supposed to do. We started smelling a rat about a year into the process..........so my dad used a lab at the company he works for to run a small test. The stuff did approx 0.0% of the characteristic that "supposedly" made it so marketable. It was a complete biohazard that would have gotten us into alot of trouble with the EPA had we marketed it in the U.S. THen all the pain in the ass shit we had to deal with from them became clear and made sense. They wanted hardly any contract with us at all.....just a wink and a handshake. They also waffled on indemnification. There are some things that the U.S does better. I've talked to other guys that have done business in Europe. One guy said he'll never do business with the greeks again. It seems to be worldwide..........this sort of weaselish bullshit business practice. I suggest anyone who has some intellectual property.........to try to exploit in in N. America. You take it overseas and you're just handing people your hard work. And right now there is very little one can do to seek restitution in such cases. I guess Greece is one of the worst places for that right now. They just take your shit and make or sell your shit themselves........completely locking you out. If I'm ever in a position like that again, someone is just going to have to front me some coin or else I'm just not interested.

when you deal with greeks, get contracts. lots of contracts. lots and ltos of contracts. and make sure you have the money to actually take them to court if neccessary. i have mucho personal experience with these greek people lol
 
For me, Turkish people and Persians (Iranians) have been the worst to do business with. The Persians proved to be absolutely not trustworthy and want to haggle over everything. Because of them I don't spend much time spinning my wheels on deals with these people. I have the - Here it is.....Take it or leave it attitude!

One funny thing I remember about the Turks I worked with, is they tried to make all kinds of distinctions between themselves and Arabs......and then these fuckin' Turks turned out to be the most underhanded people I had ever worked with.

though i am not a buisness man myself,,i have found the most annoying people to deal with is middle aged women with anxiety issues that need/create drama.

I hated my old cell phone company "Sprint" because anytime you had problems and had to call the 800# was in India and I could never understand them and they couldn't understand my cajun accent either. I would have to keep asking them over and over can you repeat it til I just gave up!

I dont do business with arabs. The oens we have here are just a pain in the ass and if I can avoid them, then perfect.
 
My insurance co. Nearly $500 a month and none of the fucks at their office ever say hello when I walk in and never once have I heard "have a good day." They act like "I owe them".

I'm shopping around.

Indian and Arabic people are the hardest. The deal is never good enough. Religous people are right up there with them. They use Jesus as a cover so you think they'd never fuck you. But guess what, they fuck you then go to confession or what ever and are forgiven. Twice mother fuckers have jacked me for 35k and 19k.
