I'm thinking that its just a matter of a point of view. I can see why Ashamed chose his words and can see why you chose yours.

Personally, I see the US as:

Violent
because of the report violent crimes in the daily media. However, I also realize that violence and sex sells so the media will post it.

BrainWashed
because of the build up of the war in Iraq. When it started, the US was tooting how Iraq played a role in the September 11 and the near threat that it posed. The people agreed. WTF?

As for you comment about generous...

Personally, I think it would of been better if the US didn't help out in the first one and it had no choice but to get involved in the second one. C'mon the Black Hand's assasination of the Archduke Ferdinade was the catalyst!
