Oxandrolone/Anavar Questions

I'd been considering steroids for a long time, and recently decided to try the mildest I thought I could find, which is oxandrolone/anavar. I planned to take 50-60mg a week. I'm not a huge guy to begin with, and I don't want to be huge, bodybuilder like, but wanted something that would help improve strength gains with minimal side effects, particularly to hair loss, and maybe add 5-10 pounds of lean muscle over time.

I had a few questions though. Firstly, what is a recommended length of time to be on anavar? Since it's oral, and I'd read that most of the time oral steroids are more harsh on the liver, I figured 6-8 weeks would be safe. Also, do I need to be on some sort of PCT with this steroid? I had read conflicting opinions, some that said you don't need it with this drug, and others that said you should always have PCT such as nolva or whatever on hand in case anything went wrong. Since I'm brand new to steroids, I wouldn't want something freaky to happen and not have anything on hand to treat it, but if there's absolutely no chance of that happening I'd also rather not waste the money.

Lastly, how does HGH compare with anavar? Admittedly I haven't done a lot of research on HGH, side effects, and results, but a friend of mine had done it and said it was pretty mild.

Thanks for any information.

im no pro like some guys on here but if you do your research anavar is usualy taken 50mg a day mate, ive taken 50mg a day and got no results but thats splittin hairs, you need to do more readin alot more research.

Any recommendations can be only general; reactions to steroids vary from person to person. Anyway, you will have to try it on yourself at first.

My personal experience with Anavar is a very positive one, although not all my expectations came true. The biggest surprise for me was the ludicruous androgenicity of this steroid: Even at 80 mg/day, my skin was BETTER than normally, which is remarkable, because I am a chronically hyperandrogenic person suffering from various dermatological problems. However, this cost me something: Virtually 100% suppression of my endogenous testosterone. Liver toxicity was minimal, and although my liver values were elevated by ca. 60% after 8 weeks, they were still within the normal range. The worst side effect are elevated cholesterol values, but they should return to normal ranges within 1 month post-cycle.

Strength increase was not crazy (as I often read), but still fine. Weight and size gains were more surprising - I gained more than 10 pounds. One thing that disappointed me a bit was the short time of activity: It stopped working after mere 5 weeks.

Overall, Anavar is the best steroid that I have ever taken (I have experience with Deca, Turinabol, Winstrol). I probably won't take anything else in the future, because I think that there is no steroid that could bring me such benefits at such a low price (I mean the price of side effects).

low? anavar is expensive mate specially in the uk.

Cycle of it should last 6-8 weeks. HGH compared to Anavar is like apples to oranges, Anavar is really mild and gives good strength and leaning out effects. Normal dosage would be anywhere from 50-75mg per day split up the dosages through out the day.

Run 30-50mg Test Prop ED
25-50mg Anavar ED
.25mg Arimidex EOD
6-8 weeks

Depending on what you want to do. You can gain nicely with this 10-15lbs(solid).

I just did this, I cut carbs after 5pm. I ate around 3500 calories a day and did cardio 2-3x a week(low intensity keep heart rate around 140-150 for 20-30 minutes)

Started at 195(11%bf) ended 202(9%bf)

I know if I wanted to gain more mass it would have been very feasible.

I'm entering my second week of PCT. Weighing 200lbs, still hit 265x4 on incline bench. When I was on I hit 275x3. Squatting a little over 400lbs at the moment.I'm 6'1 btw.

Low doses are nice.. no hair loss for me. I used 1.5mg propecia a day while on and I used nizoral 2% 3x a week.

This was my second cycle.. first was TEST/EQ/Var 400/400/(first six weeks)25 for 10 weeks. I got up to 210 on that one from 186, and I was training for a fight... but I was eating close to 5000 calories a day.I kept nearly all of it. I liked the shorter cycle more.. and I really hardened up on it. The key is to keep eating and working out hard.

IF you dont have the cash.. don't use. This is not cheap.. if you want to do it right. DONT skimp on your PCT either.

AGREE! If you want to keep those hard earned gains PCT is a must

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll just try out 60/mg a day with a lot of eating and working out and hope for the best. I'll add in PCT, is there any in particular you guys would recommend over others? Arimidex?

I think the 2nd cycle I do I'll integrate something else, or move up to something stronger assuming my body tolerates anavar well.

You don't need Adex running Var but you do need PCT, Sustain Alpha,HCGenerate

I have seen numerous responses on the PCT with a Anavar only cycle and alot of them have said the Nolva is good enough because of the mildness of the Anavar. I am interested in reading what others have to say as well.

I am waiting on my gear for a T-Bol/Var cycle (my first) and was planning on Nolva at 40/40/20/20 for PCT.

Age, stats, diet, training?

To get 5-10lbs from var, your diet and training need to be in check. I think you're better candidate for tbol.

This could work.. I've never done a stand alone oral or prohormone of any kind. I know you're new to this, but honestly you'd prob be better off dropping your var dosage and running some testosterone with it. At low doses and propecia you wont lose your hair. VAR is really bad with regard to cholesterol.. and at 60mg I feel like legitimate VAR will not be as mild as you think it to be. You are going to get shutdown regardless.

The high cholesterol values will return to normal range within several weeks. Anavar cycles can't be harmful, if you don't run it non-stop for years. And as for shutdown, he should check his testosterone levels immediately after the end of the cycle. Otherwise he will have no idea, what a PCT he is to use. If he is 100% suppressed, Nolvadex won't help.

SInce Sustain is an anti e, there's really no need for it since var doesn't aromatize.

For HPTA, I'd recommend HCGenerate, UNLEASHED followed by BRIDGE. And for liver I'd suggest POST CYCLE and Liv 52.

Or if you like using prescription meds, you could use Clomid for 3 to 4 weeks, and maybe even through in unleashed/post-cycle in the mix

I don't think this part was stressed enough in the responses - remember when you're running var or any AAS you can't expect that it's just a magic pill - you'll see twice the results if you keep your diet in lockdown. I've gained about 6lbs of muscle in the last 5 weeks using var, but have been very consistent with my diet.

Sustain is not an anti E. It actually helps balance estrogen.

Since ANAVAR is a mild AAS is can be ran longer than most orals,,even 10-12 weeks
and for most men 40-60mg per day works nicely.
You most definitely want to do a solid PCT following the cycle.

Everybody is different, but as for me, it stopped working after mere 5 weeks, and raising the dose from 60 mg/day up to 80 mg/day didn't help at all. It was simply no use to run it longer. Curiously, after I finished the cycle (after 8 weeks), I again experienced a mild strength increase during the 9th week (followed by a gradual downfall, however). This phenomena already occured twice in me and I think it has something to do with the chronical "overload" of androgen receptors during the cycle. Hence I think I should rather lower the dosage around the 5th week.
