Opinions for a first timer...

Hello gents, and thanks for taking the time to help me out. As an intro, please let me point some very important things out about myself...since this is my first post on this site. I have, as of late, been considering the use of Anabolic Steroids. I have been doing well over one month of research thus far, reading mostly into pronounced side effects, cycles, post-cycles, and results. I am very well aware of what it means to take Anabolic Steroids, and even though I am incredibly eager...I am still holding off in order to get ALL my questions answered so that my first (and more than likely, last) cycle will be prominent and superb, results-wise.

After extensive research, I have concluded that perhaps the best stack for me would be composed of Equipoise and Test (skipping the Dianabol due to what I've read regarding it's strong estrogenic properties after metabolysis.) Before I ask my main question (you guessed it, EQUIPOISE VS. DECA!!!), let me list my stats and goals...

Age: 24
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 138 lbs (I have always been a fairly toned/ripped individual since I was young. I know I weight very little, but my muscles have a decent amount of definition in them for what little work I've put in them thus far.)

I am very capable of maintaining a 5 day/week workout schedule, and I am very knowledgeable in workout routines and more importantly, TECHNIQUE.

On a side note, I currently eat about 3 meals a day, and would try my hardest to up my protein and calorie intake while on the cycle.

Supplements would include Muscle Milk (preferrably 3 times daily), Creatine, and a Multi-Vitamin.

Post-Cycle questions will be asked later.

So, since this is my first cycle, how do you think my gains would look with about 500mg of Equipoise along with 300mg of Test weekly? I understand that the gains from Equipoise are somewhat mild compared to those of Deca, and Deca stores on a lot of water weight as well.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but even though I am very skinny, I still prefer NOT to gain weight by means of bloat and water weight. However, having said that, I have yet to read anything in regards to solid muscle gains from Equipoise. I hear it gives you great vascularit and solid muscle gains, but how much? As a 138 pounder, will I be able to reach a solid 155 or maybe even 160 with Equipoise + Test? My MAIN GOALS are to gain as much SOLID weight as possible, while keeping a fine, lean, ripped physique.

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks brothers!

138 lbs? you need to stay in the gym and eat more.

First, your only eating 3 meals a day. Multiply that by 2.5 and you'll be where you need to be. Start counting you calories. You should consume an easy 3500-4000. All of your protein is coming from shakes. You need to go out and get chicken breasts and keep eating them. Fast acting protein is good for after exercise and a snack, but not a meal replacement. Red meat is also your friend. I dont recommend getting on gear until have gained more weight naturally, but most likly your not going to listen.

SO..
you need more test. Test should be higher than the eq. 500 test (250 monday 250 thurday) and 400 eq (200 monday 200 thursday)

Thats my next cycle. Run the EQ longer than the test (like 14 weeks) (test is run at 10 weeks)

Some are going to tell you that you need test while still on EQ but my research showed me that the EQ will be good for the final 4 weeks.

Have adex and nova on hand at all times.

Dont cycle yet. get you eating right for gods sake!

you need to be getting in atleat 5-6 meals a day with atleast three of those from chicken beef or whatever meat is available.

I think you should start reading up on diets and food instead of aas

Well, thanks for the reply, but you didn't really answer any of my questions. I already stated that my diet would be changing soon. I come from a European lifestyle, so my house is always filled with cooking that includes red meats and ESPECIALLY chicken. I have read up a lot on dieting, and know what I should be eating. I am a full time pre-med student so I'm at school A LOT, so I'd have to pack lunched and dinners with me which proves to be quite difficult to lug around. Also, the prices at our cafeteria and on-campus supermarkets are ridiculous, so I'd rather not buy.

You did, however, bring up some new questions for me. What is Adex and Nova, and why should it be on hand at all times?

Also, some more opinions regarding Equipoise and Deca in regards to my current body weight and impact each may have.

P.S. FutureMed, I most definitely will listen. I am very eager to try out some gear, but I refuse to do so unless I know I can stay consistent in the gym whilst on a good high protein/calorie diet. Trust me, I've been looking into gear almost everyday for 6 months now and still haven't started. =)

well we dont really answer questions if your not suppose to be doing steroids..
you dont need steroids you need food and youll grow like a weed..
you need basically as i call it "6-8 dinners" a day.
eat
eat
eat
train train train...
and you will grow
steroids are some miracle workers...go ahead take them but nothing will happen .. look wheres your diet at?

your questions where answered man. at this point steroids are not for you. you do not know how to diet, train, or recover properly. until you do you will get nowhere with steroids. the main problem here is the time issue. you want it now and thats not going to happen. diet is something you need to learn through experimentation and it takes a long time. so does training efectively. running any cycle at this point will bring you the same result. small gains, injuries, and total loss of gains leaving you in a worst place then where you started. sorry man but its the truth. check out our diet and training forums. good luck

You just dont get it....

Eating properly isnt something you just do for 8 weeks while on cycle and then just go back to eating 2-3meals of random things a day . Bottom line- your very small,if your training is good like you say then you would be bigger if you ate more! its simple

If you've been lookin into gear for a while you've obviously not been looking at everything if you dont know what Adex and Nolva are.....just eat bro and train hard you will gain. You are not ready for AAS.....

It took me over 3 years to get my diet down the way it is now. In that same time i've been perfecting my routine in the gym while reading about AAS.

You say you are eager, ok fine. I was eager too in '07 when I first started researching and bought my first cycle. I still haven't used it yet. Get the picture? You have a lot more research to do especially since you don't know what A-Dex or Nolva is, and why it needs to be on hand.

You seem like an intelligent person, stop thinking about steroids and start figuring out how you're going to gain weight while going to medical school.

Good luck to you.

everyone thinks steroids are a magic pill... if you cant make gains without steroids, you wont be able to make gains with them... and even if you do, they will all be lost as soon as you stop. look at the long run, thats where quality muscle is made, learn to eat and train properly and then after a few years consider steroids.

I Agree with most all that has been said, You don't Just change a diet overnight and expect to add some magic combo, because as soon as you stop, if your training & DIET!!! are not spot on ,then it will have been all for nothing,You are not even close to building a solid foundation,(Rome wasn't built in a day)Learn the in & outs aspects of dieting, train each body part to failure, If you have all this in place you should be able to put on some weight & serious muscle.

Adding AAS now is just setting yourself up for an injury!

I know it probably seems to you that we may be a bit self righteous, but truthfully bro, you don't know enough to know what you don't know. You can't just do one cycle and then go back to your old ways. Juice is the icing. You have to build a cake first. You are not eating nearly enough. Bodybuilding is a lifestyle and a rather demanding one at that. Pretend that there is no such thing as juice and your life depends upon you gaining weight. You are intelligent enough and disciplined enough to go to med school. Transfer that to gaining muscle and accept that it requires hard work and discipline. Once you have learned how to gain naturally, you'll have a foundation. What you're trying to do now is like becoming a medical specialist without going through the general education part. Good luck to you.

Excellent post. First thing I picked up was the 3 meals a day and adding 3 shakes. Thats not gonna do it bro. Like someone else said, bodybuilding is a way of life and requires the strictest of discipline. Get your lifting and diet in check first.

Forgive me guys for being so late on the reply. I understand where you're all coming from and I respect your opinions...and I plan on following your advice. The only question I have left then is...how can one even eat 5-8 meals a day? My mother's cooking is composed of meats, rice, pastas, always cooked in EVOO, TONS of veggies, there's always fruit salads at home, TONS OF VEGGIES (I had to say it twice), etc etc...but the problem is, I just can't consume that much food. I sometimes even go the entire day with 2 meals. I get full fast and I just can't see how it would be possible for me to eat that many meals a day.

A meal doesn't have to be a 5 course dinner. You want to space out several smaller meals thru the day.

I just finished my second breakfast of the day. 6 scrambled egg whites with a link of turkey sausage. (First breakfast was a protein shake with a bananna, blueberries and flax oil.)

You have to learn to eat to grow. I'm hungry all the time.

6 scrambled eggs...that would probably keep me full for 5 hours. I can most definitely try, but I'd like to find a list of foods that contain clean calories. I don't want to sit here and say "alright a pint of ben and jerrys before I go to bed everynight." I'd like to be able to keep a lean physique whilst putting the weight on. I understand that peanut butter, almonds, avocados, flax oil, blueberries, wheat bread, and brown rice are all top notch. Anything else I should consider?

i just gave you a 7 day plat. membership use that time to search the diet and training forums you will find plenty of sample diets and routines there.

Wow Joe...I don't even know what to say. Thank you brother, I'll get right on it. I'm actually about to go hit up my shoulder workout. I'm on it right when I get home. Thank you again!

no big deal man. we all start at the same place. good luck

Heres the thing, you cant eat properly now... you might eat more on your cycle. But then think about it logically... if you cant eat now then you stop eating like you on cycle and your testicles are shutdown... you will be properfucked. So at the end of the day, you ended up messing with some pretty serious stuff for no reason.

I have a question for you.. ok you're pretty light. I'm only about 185 and I just started my first cycle, but my lifts pound for pound are in many cases at the level or better than some guys of have juiced or juiced several times. So let me ask you.. what are you're lifts like?

To be quite honest, Rekrul, my lifts are very weak. I just started hitting the gym again on Monday, so it's been 3 consistent days thus far (pretty much nothing, I know). 2 years ago, I was 135, and I stayed consistent in the gym for a solid 4 months. At the end of the 4 months, before I stopped due to school, I weighed in at almost 150...and I wasn't even eating more than 4 meals a day at that time. To answer your question more specifically, I was lifting GREAT for a 148 pounder. I was able to dumb-bell bench with 70s, easily 6 reps and comfortably 4 sets. Currently, I'm struggling with the 40s. I have a long road ahead of me, and I'm glad I found this site to be honest. I'm doing a good amount of research from here on in order to set up a great diet plan for myself.

Just yesterday there was a discussion on one of the boards about people saying EF is all about steriods and how the site promotes the use of them. People were questioning why the site has that rep and some members stated, just look at the site and the amount of ads for the stuff. Some people talk about that stuff , but others will lead you, with their own experience, to the right things to eat, the number of times a day to eat, and proper training methods. I'm new to this site also, but from all I've read I'd heed the advice of the experts on this site and let them tell you how to achieve the look you want to optain. Good things cost, take time, dedication and never come easy... be patient and listen. There are so many guys on EF that can help you but like some of them have told you, dont start out the way you're talking about starting. Do what they say and come back in a few months and give us an update. I'm sure you'll be pleased with yourself and most important, you'll feel good because of how you look - doin it the healthy way.
Peace and all the best to you.

Man im just glad your a sensible dude and is taking all this advice on board, you are not going to regret it.
peace

I didn't read the whole thread but I just wanted to post my own experiance so noob has something to compare his to.

I had been an athlete from about fifteen years old. As I got older I got more serious. When I was in my early twenties I quit my job because it was cutting into my workout time.

I was almost fifty and recovering from chemo before I even thought about steroids, it had been offered to me many time but I passed. When I thought I would give it a shot I studied everything I could get my hands on for over a year and a half. Then I ran my first cycle.

You'll get a lot of information on forums but to get the scientific information you need to go to PubMed Home. Use the forums to get a basic understanding of what you have in mind then see what the medical community has done for experiments on what you are thinking about.

So my advice is to work on your diet for about five more years, along with your workouts. As your diet improves so will your bodies ability to respond to the workouts. This experiance is really the foundation of your future training. Then, and only then, think about steroids. Don't try to rush it you will only fuck yourself up.

I have no doubt that seeing results in a natural, hard-working fashion will have a stronger impact on my mentality/confidence/overall happiness than steroids would. This is day 2 so far, and I had 5 great meals today! =) 5 meals is more than I normally eat in 2 days, hahaha. I'm still building a sort of "laundry list" of clean calorie foods for myself. I'm actually fairly excited to go to the supermarket to buy all this crap I hardly ever eat...like avocados and cottage cheese, and PEANUT BUTTER (can't wait for that one). Thanks again for all the hard love, it actually really opened my eyes. I plan on staying a member here for all my time to come.
