Hello ladies:

Has anyone tried the Met-rx protein called "Protein plus": Soy formula, strawberry and cream flavor? It is really tasty. It actually tastes like strawberries and cream oatmeal.

Btw: do any of you have any good results/experiences with the time-released protein powders?

Just curious.

The belief that ther's some type of supplement that releases a big chunk of protein into the body after several hours of ingestion?

I don't buy it.

If you know of how protein is synthesized in the body, you would save your money and buy a good brand of protein powder and take the protein once every 4-6 hours. Or eat a good steak or some chicken (or other source of protein) at "such-and-such" hour and four hours later have some more protein. THIS will maintain protein synthesis.

This new protein that I bought is not time-released. I was simply elaborating on how great I thought the protein tasted and mixed!

I am well aware as to how protein is synthesized in the body; My question was regarding whether other women have had good results, the same results, etc. with the time-released protein versus the non-time-released, as I have not sampled the time-released as of yet.
Thanks for your help... :)

So does anyone else have any input?

im not sure about proteins marketed as "time released" just because ive been out of the supp game for a while. but a while ago, under recommendation, i made a blend of casein, isolate and concentrate from proteinfactory.com that was quite filling over the course of a few hours. the theory was the different absorption rates spread out the protein uptake. i felt satisfied longer than with just a simple whey concentrate or isolate. as for whether or not i made gains because of it, i wasnt paying attention. i took it post workout and also prior to bed.

Sorry, bunny: I realized after I post that reply, that I may come off as being rude. Wasn't.

But honestly, I have been using two brands of protein powder that have become my staple (as far as protein powders go). And I'm not a big fan of soy as a protein source.

Hey Slinky, I didn't even think about it! You weren't rude, just straightforward, and that's perfectly fine with me! That's how I am.

I am just curious about other peoples' experiences.

I am currently taking this soy protein (protein plus by Metrx), as I have stated in my first post. I feel pretty good...it is better tasting that Designer and my gym sessions have been productive.

My BF is taking the time-released protein by Metrx (not soy), and he seems to like it a lot!

Thanks for the replies..

Yes bunny I've tried it. It is one of the better tastin RTD's. I've tried most of them and that is one of m favorites. I usually use Optimum Whey but when I'm lazy I usually try to get the Protein Plus. I like EAS low carb vanilla too but I haven't been able to get that in awhile.

Check out Spatts' post "All the Whey." I sent for a asmple and got it within 2 days. I really like it and plan on putting in an order. There's no awful sweet after taste and it mixes up very well, not lunpy. Try it you might like it.:)
