Old East German 3x3 routine

I'm trying this routine in preparation for a meet 2 months from now:

There's NO assistance work. You workout 3x per wk, and each workout you do squats, benches, and deadlifts. The first 4 wks involves high volume in the 60% range. The last 4 wks has less volume in the 80-95% range.

Looks kinda brutal. Hehe. :D
 
In case anyone was wondering...

I just finished my first workout. It's tough, but it's really fun too. I feel good afterward, knowing that I worked hard. I have to do it again Wednesday, so we'll see if I can recover enough by then.

had more sucess with this type of training. (because of assistance work)

but still 3x3 is pretty cool. but i wouldnt try and use it all year arouund...you dont get to address weak areas, and that can turn into a major problem.

What i used to do was use a program like this to help build raw strength then move onto a conjugate type of training (like westside) to help with speed.

When i was growing up....i wanted to be like danzig. I even have sideburns like his.....haha now thats lame
 
Korte's 3x3 is a pretty effective routine for me.

I substituted OHP, PC, and OLY Squat for Bench, Deadlift, and PL Squat, respectively.
