I saw a report with some numbers (government reports like numbers) and they estimated that this will save the govt. $80 billion or so (over 10 years I think - I'm tired and cannot remember the exact numbers).
The logic behind the plan makes sense because the government would be cutting out the middleman BUT (and there is always a but) the government is clearly underestimating the costs if they take it over. IMO the government is inefficient and I think this will cost the government more than it will save.
The government also didn't take into consideration the numbers of private jobs that would be lost and it is significant.
In sum, the government didn't crunch it numbers correctly and in my opinion the benefits will not outweigh the costs.
I thank all of the idiots in this forum that support Obama and I hope you are happy with his performance. You may have thought nobody could have outperformed Bush in the stupidity department but Obama has beaten him and it only took one year.
I never thought I would say this but thank God for Massachusetts.
Obama better hurry the fuck up. I'm ready to start piching film school franchises to some arab investors - and it wouldn't hurt me one bit to start creating them in europe, asia and middle east. Lots of demand there for people wanting to know how to act like drama queens on camera.
