This is probably a dumb question, but forgive me... I am a dumb guy. What is Nubain and why are bodybuilders taking it? I overheard some guys talking about it in the gym today and am curious....

Its an injectable narcotic pain med...(same family as things like hydrocodone, morphine, etc...an opiate derivative)

NOT really something bodybuilders should be too concerned with (unles you are dire CHRONIC pain)

You have to be pretty hard up to get high on Nubain. I tried it before after heavy leg days because I heard it helps recovery time. It's similar to taking a couple of Vicodin, except you have to inject. I guess it's all right to use occasionaly, but I felt like a heroin addict for the short time I used it.

Nubain is a pain killer bro and it is some serious stuff. It is REALLY addictive. Not something you want to use. I have seen a guy who was hooked on it and it took a while for the docs to get him off. I would steer clear of it.

very addictive. Dan duchaine, who introduced it to bodybuilding, tried many times to quit. It is widely held that he was still using when it died and may have contributed significantly to his early demise (though his congenital issues were the direct cause)

An old buddy of mine was addicted to it about 3 years ago. He was strong out like a heroin addict. IMO if you need it to lift, you have a problem that needs to be fixed before you should lift.

I used it before, a whole vial in about 2 days. I really didn't like it either, I prefer pentazocine for an inj. painkiller. Worked well sub-q, I would never shoot anything IV. Honestly, I don't know how anyone could train well on it, or function too well period. I don't have an addictive personality, but if you do, I'd stay away.

Its crossing over to the narcotic world - thats where you find your junkies, coke heads, smack users, etc.... I would stay clear of it. Nothing better than maintaining a clear head and a strong mind.

My source sent me a bottle a few years ago to try for free because it was new shit that we had never heard of. I stay away from ALL narcotics now but back then was a different story. You can inject into the muscle it just takes about 5 min to take effect. They say its like Percocets and Vics but I never saw the resemblance. Percs made me feel happy and just straight up NICE but Nubain made me tired with no euphoric feeling to it at all. I'm glad it didn't!

If you can handle your heroin no problem.. then you should be fine with Nubain.

A source sent me a free amp of Fentanyl Citrate (I think that's what it's called). Told me it was a painkiller. I did a a search, turns out this stuff is 40X more potent than heroin, it would have probably killed me. Goes to show you that sources don't necessarily know much about the drugs they sell.

when i used to use oxycoton and percocet heavily they would give me horrible amount of aggression...i mean it was really bad...way more then tren or anadrol..they barley didy anything to my attitude compared to painkillers

...so i would imagine nubain having similay effects which is helpfull in the gym...but definalty not the correct way to get a better work out

Some of these answers were a little off. You wouldnt want to use this to get high, there are much better choices out there. It's an opiate-based anti-catabolic. Bodybuilders use it to deal with the pain of training. But it's EXTREMELY addictive. Not something you want to fuck with.

No people do use it to get high, whether there are better choices is an individual thing. The reason it's associated with BBing is it's commonly available where steroids are sold ie Mexico.
