I've watched three NFL preseason games so far this year. I've seen three guys carried out on stretchers with various neck injuries. The backally BS is stupid, but I've never seen anyone get seriously hurt on UFC.

They do that as a precaution. Those guys were fine. The basic truth is that boxing is scared shitless... they know this is the future. Boxing has money... boxing greases the right people to make sure that MMA, goes away. Even though boxing is responsible for far more deaths per year.

Exactly, they are not going to take any chances in the UFC. They can't afford negative publicity.

I try to explain this to people all the time. When you go out in MMA... it is over. That is 1000 times safer than letting a man with a concussion... get up and get another one.

That's pure, solid truth; MMA IS the future, and it isn't going to go away, AND it's a helluva lot safer than boxing.

I try and explain this to people, but it seems to fall on deaf ears. For the general public, MMA is "brutal" and "violent", while boxing is "safe because they wear soft gloves"........!!!

I think once more people become educated (and they will), MMA events will be more openly accepted.

I've done medical stand-by at many MMA/full Muay Thai events, and in general, the MT fighters end up more battered than the MMA fighters.

initially they advertised it based on the blood and the brutality
now it's biting them in the ass
