A friend of my wife was here last night, and they were playing with the Nintendo Wii Fit... It has a body mass calculator, which is so far off that I need to laugh. It weighs you, and asks for height, age, and what weight are your clothes, etc. It does not have any means to measure fat percentage, and I don't understand how they can claim it does. Not even an electrode for your feet or hands. So here's what it said:
Wife: Underweight by 13 lbs, 22% body fat, and "has trouble balancing"
Friend: Obese, horrible posture, 20% body fat
Me: Overweight by 20 lbs, 30% body fat, poor balance
Now here's the real-life facts:
Wife: (age 45) 116 lbs, 5' 4", 27" waist, flat, defined abs, and is a professional Hollywood stuntwoman, brown belt in Karate, and placed in the MENS competition 125 class Texas half mile Motocross. Able to do balance beam to put Olympians in check!
Friend: (female age 40) 5' 9", (ordered me not to tell waist), BIG bones, and not really that overweight... Expert horse jumping competitor, and has good posture as far as I can see.
Me: (age 43) 6', 177 lbs, 30" waist, 5.7% body fat (per immersion test in February), and flat abs with veins popped out, and the only body fat I could possibly lose, must be in my big toe.
So just in case anyone tries this on the Wii, just know it's about as accurate as campaign promises.
