Agreed. Share your experiences with us. What was your starting weight? Are you an active person, athlete, bodybuilder?
I tried to check my post this morning but the board was down. I'm back from work now so here's my story :)

about a year and a half ago my doctor said I was morbidly obese, which was a shock. :worried: I was 5'10.5" tall, 42" pants. He weighed me at 280something I don't remember exactly. Anyhoo, because he said that my heath insurance when WAYYYY up and I even lost it for a month or 2 before finding a new company. I got a pretty big frame. My cousin is 5' 11" and skinny and still weighs 180. So I figure I'll end up around there when I'm done.

So what got me started was 2 things. One, I had brand new 42" pants that didn't fit. 42" is the biggest at the normal stores and there was NO WAYY I'd go to a big and tall store so I figured I'd have to do something. Two, I gave up mayo and soda and potatos for lent last year before easter. I use to be a soda and french fry fiend. I'd drink soda like water and always get fry's in fast food combos, and when I use to study for finals and midterms I'd always have chips and soda to snack. So with the no soda no mayo no fry's I ended up getting steak and chicken bruitos and tacos for lunch and the weight came off like crazy. That combo worked all the way till a month or 2 ago when it stopped working. I guess since I had less muscle, the muscle that supported 65 lbs. every day, my metabolism slowed down. So after then I cut the calories more and tried to keep up the protien and it started working again.

The whole time I took no suppliments, no pills, no drugs, and probably went to the gym half a dozen times. :) I'm not a body buildier but I've always had dumbells for my arms. I'm 26 years old.

Interesting.

Cuttin cals is only going to work for so long before you stall again.

Adding in lifting weights and/or cardio will help after that.

Imagine the progress you would make if you worked your entire body.......you should aim for 5'10 and 200 lbs of muscle :D

weight loss chart update. finally pieced together my old chart from my crashed computer and the one I've been keeping since then.

Good for you. I've lost 124 lbs in the last 2 years, and 169 lbs since '96. Keep lifting so you can keep your metabolism up.
