•Bomze is owner and president of Star Sports Corp. publishers.The company publishes American Turf Monthly and a newslette rand phone service named Sports Reporter, which makes selections on pro sporting events. One of Bomze's first horses was the steeplechaser Sports Reporter
•Bomze became involved with racing first as a writer, then through a friendship with two trainers, brothers Leo and Michael O'Brien. He has had horses with Leo O'Brien, no relation to Irish trainers Vincent O'Brien or Aidan O'Brien, ever since
•Bomze earned a Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Award as New York's top state breeder in 1990, 1991, and 1993. He bred the New York-based millionaire full brothers Fourstars Allstar and Fourstardave ( by Compliance - Broadway Joan). Both runners have won New York-bred championships and their dam has won honors as New York's Broodmare of the Year thrice over. Bomze was a major shareholder in Compliance. He purchased Broadway Joan for $2,500 at a Belmont Park paddock sale.
•Fourstars Allstar, who Bomze raced with Philip DiLeo, won the1991 Irish Two Thousand Guineas to become the first U.S.-trained runner to win a European classic. In 1991, he was New York's Horse of the Year and repeated in 1994 ... Venerable horse ran in three Breeders' Cup Miles with best finish being third in 1993 ... Fourstars Allstar stood at Coolmore Stud in Ireland until his untimely death in February of 2005.
•Fourstardave, who was raced with Richard Connaughton, became the second New York runner to go over $1 million in earnings. Nicknamed the "Sultan of Saratoga," he became a cult hero by virtue of winning at Saratoga eight seasons from 1987-94. Fourstardave passed away in October of 2002 at the age of 17.
•President of the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association twice, member of TOBA and the New York Breeders Association, served on board of directors for Friends of New York Racing, voted Outstanding Breeder of 1990, '91 and '93 by the New York Thoroughbred Breeders, and has served on the board of directors of the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association.

•Bomze enjoys other sports, writing, reading, and doing charitable work.
