Just found out through a consultaion with a clinic, starting in April there is a a new law in effect on being treated for HRT. Supposedly, there will be a dissolving in clinincs because they have to comply with a law stating that patients have to actually "see the Dr. in person" before they can script them out any medication for HRT versus just getting a phone call from the Dr. You HAVE to see the Dr. in person. Will the clinics continue with via-phone, bloodwork faxed, consultaion? Yes, but they will probably have to be in compliance since the law takes place soon. Clinics will not ship meds through mail as a result of compliance. This is all I know, as I spoke to a director of a HRT clininc who has just recently gone to a HRT seminar and the word was giving on that matter. On another note, I aslo found out as all these clinics, especially Florida where they are really concentrated, I wonder if the Medications we get are real? Well, BRAND NAME - WATSON and PFIZER are highly reccommended. The thought of the patient getting a "legal" script can worry some because of not wanting to get in trouble with the law in case it is NOT real clinic,Dr., and pharmacy. The patient is protected under the Dr./Clinic law. No worries for us in aother words.
It is the clinincs that are in trouble and will get shutdown. That is all I can remember that was stated to me that are the MOST important. I hope this helped someone. Feel free to chime in on this topic.
