Hi ladies,
I've been reading these boards for a while and finally decided to post. I'm trying to gain some size but I don't really have that much of an appetite. I get stressed out over stupid things and then I loose my appetite even more. How do you guys handle stress and is there anything I can do to increase my appetite?
 
I find that working out reduces my stress and increases my appetite.

And if that doesn't work, a good bonghit will do both, also!

Hi there, I'm pretty new to the boards too. We've all been there at the beginning...Hell, I used to eat a cam of soup every day and run 5 miles...i was skinny/fat (105lbs @ 25% bf) cause i had no muscle!

Don't be discouraged or stressed out about lifting - so many people use the gym to relieve stress. One of my friends even calls it his church of iron, LOL... Most people who begin to lift and change their nutrition actually develop a pretty regimented lifestyle. Once this occurs, you would not beleive the amount of stress it removes from your life. I wish you all the best and of course welcome to the boards, everyone is very nice and offers an abundance of knowledge. take care.

Wend, I agree. I love the appetite I get from that. The last time I did it though, I didn't get the appetite, I just got really tired and was a b*tch the next day!

I don't have a problem with the no appetite thing....I'm ALWAYS hungry!! LOL But with the stress.....exercise really helps me with that.....I took a kickboxing class where the 2nd half was dedicated to punching a bag.....that took care of it!! LOL
 
Welcome. I go to the gym to reduce stress. I vary on appetite changes from stress. Some types of stress make me eat and others make me not even want to see food. Sometimes when I'm really upset I find it hard to even swallow food.

No matter what, lifting weights and doing a bit of cardio make me feel better (or at least makes me tired enough to sleep and not think).
