I have recently joined a gym and decided to get serious about weight loss. I have lost weight before but always end up putting it back on. The only way I have ever been able to lose weight is to starve myself..which I know is not healthy and I always gain it back. So my husband recommended I get some tips from you guys!
A little info: I'm 34 two kids (9 and 11), I am 5'4" and currently weigh 218. My only medical issue is I had my thyroid removed 6 years ago. I am on Synthyroid and finally have my thyroid levels normal. My thyroid levels crashed a year ago after my hysterectomy and I ended up gaining about 15-20 lbs. I started the gym last week and have been trying to go at least 4 days a week..doing 25 minutes on the treadmill and 25 minutes on the eliptical. I have also been walking in the evenings. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!! Meal plans, supplements, exercise tips..etc. Thanks!

You need a diet. Starving yourself will do nothing but slow motabilisim ( spell error) do you take vitamins? Supps?

So far seens like ur on the rite path as far as cardio 4-5 time min. Ah week.

Sorry to hear about ur health issues hope all is well now

Welcome to the board. Posting up here is a great way to get going.
Radar is on the money. A good meal plan does the work for you. Then the exercise you add in really polishes the results.
Start up a jounal in this forum. List what you eat, when, and how much. Also list what you drink and what you do for exercise. What that will do is allow the ladies on here to tweak things to help you get results quicker. It will also keep you on the up and up when you know people are reading your updates. Lastly, you will inspire others who are on the site. I get most of my motivation from the ladies on here. There are days I feel like I just can't do it and then I read what they have done and I know I don't have a viable excuse.
Do it up and best of luck!!!

I think many women think of a diet & exercise as something temporary. Something you use until you are done with it. When in reality it is a way of life.

Great start Tiff,

Find someone with similar goals to workout with. This makes working out more enjoyable and gives you somebody to push you. (My husband is my workout buddy).
