New gym New bars HELP

Alright so i just switched gyms and my new gym seems to have thicker bars. It was back day today and i started off with deadlifts. Last week at my other gym i was easily able to get 400x3. Today my grip was totally off. No way i could even get 350x3. Disapointed i just did some cardio and am going to try it again tmmrw. Could it be the bars or my grip? The bars do seem a bit thicker than my other gym.

I was going to grab some straps. I use to use gloves but have ditched them for a while now. Do straps really help you guys alot?

Yea, My golds here has thicker bars for the dumbbells.
Just work with it, it's your grip.

When you go back to the normal sized bars your grip will be that much better.

I find my straps akward to use so havent really used them yet.
But seems to be good protocol to only used them on your heaviest set.

its sad tho bro lol. i loaded teh bar up and had to deload it right back lol. im stuck at this gym for 2years. so im gna have to get use to this now i guess

Is it harder to grip larger bars? I find that my grip is better on the slightly larger bars than the smallest size olympic ones. I have small hands if that matters.

i would say my hands are prety small at 5,7. i found it really hard to get a could grip on the baar today. Im going to be getting some straps tmmrw and will report back! thing is i would be at teh top point of my deadlift and the bar wouldnt just stay gripped. its weird first time its ever happended to me like that.

The smaller bars might not have actually been the weight you thought they were either...
