New Deadlift Pr!!

Great job!! I am glad your lower back has recovered from that scary possibility of an injury. It looks like 365lbs or 405lbs are in the realm of possibility. What type of stance do you use? Be sure to hit the squats, t-bar rows, and shurgs really hard to strengthen various portions of the deadlift. If you are really looking to isolate the erectors, lats, rhompoids, infraspinatus, and traps. . . try peforming deadlifts off the rack with the safety pins set at knee level. You will be able to use an incredible amount of weight, plus you will release insane amounts of GH.

thats where im going next also. when i missed my lift yesterday....it was from the knees up. i got it off the ground fine....

im such a bitch. heheheh. :( :D

good mornings have been helping though as have band pull throughs. maybe a couple weeks of heavy rack pulls and then back at regular DL's are in order for me.

Yeah swain, my back is feeling excellent. I was afraid I'd be hurting after that pull, but I'm feeling nothing. I use a conventional stance, feet about shoulder width apart.

Question ... Rack deads ... how many reps? Singles? What would a typical rack dead routine look like? (i.e. Sets, reps, rest periods). Thanks for the info. And for the support. Everyone.

Gettinlarger,

When I perform rack deads here is how my routine is designed (this routine was performed on 8-13-2001:

Rack Deads (2 minutes rest between sets)

1 x 12 - 405lbs
1 x 8 - 495lbs
1 x 5 - 585lbs
1 x 3 - 675lbs

stance is standard, and grip is slightly wider than shoulder.

Dumbbell Rows

1 x 8 - 130lbs
1 x 6 - 140lbs

Seated Pulley Rows

1 x 12 - 180lbs
1 x 5 - 230lbs

Wide Grip Pull-Downs (no need to go to heavy and cheat)

3 x 12 - 150lbs

Dumbbell Shrugs

1 x 13 - 140lbs
1 x 11 - 140lbs

Hyperextensions

2 x 25 - bodyweight

I rarely perform singles on the rack deads. I like to pound the spinal erectors with heavy weight and lower reps. After a heavy workout like this, my entire back is exhausted and I am close to puking.

Is there any workout that would maximize the amount of GH mybody would release...as in rep range for squats/deads/bench?

Is it more weight = more GH release?

Or acertain % of our max for X reps?

Can anyone enlighten me?

Not GH, its testosterone

attmepting and making PRs, promote Test

Olympic lifts do as well

Big heavy compund moves lifted with maximal force
