Cadillac's 2004 XLR roadster will have a $76,200 MSRP, including destination, when it arrives at dealerships this summer, the automaker said on Monday.

Standard equipment for the XLR, which has a 4.6-liter V-8 engine, includes a power retractable hardtop, keyless access with a push-button start and adaptive cruise control.

The only option not included in the $76,200 MSRP is XM Satellite Radio, which costs $325 for hardware and installation and $9.99 for monthly service fee. GM pays the $14.99 initiation fee.

XLR's competitors include the Mercedes Benz SL500, Lexus SC430 and Jaguar XK8, GM says.

XLR production starts in June at GM's Bowling Green, Ky., assembly plant.

Okay personally i think GM has lost its mind!

First they want over $40K for the Chevy SSR and Silverado SS trucks, then they want almost $40K for the new GTO.

Don't they realize it's just a Cadillac?

That makes no sense. It's going to compete with cars that are significantly faster and more refined. I can buy 10 cars for half that price and go faster.

I guess that they were making some, or tooling for it I can't remember, when I was at the Corvette plant in March. They wouldn't let us over on that side of the plant though...

Yeah so, my 78chevy 1ton truck cost me $75.00 at auction and runs great and can destroy your caddy. Let the good looking girl step out first though.

Just get the Infiniti coupe. Will cost you about $30,000 and has about 300hp stock. CANNOT beat that price. :D
