Needsize for beginner?

Hi!

I have been reading these pages for a while now and they have been a great help so thought I would ask some advise...

I have been training on/off for about a year now but still class myself as a full beginner but for the last few weeks I have got myself doing the Needsize version of the 5x5 (4 day split) as it seemed the perfect route to get size and strength which is my main goal.

I am already seeing good newbie gains in strength/size but after reading a few posts I am starting to wonder if I would be better off on the Starting Strength routine first before going onto Needsize to get my stats up quicker as you squat 3 times a week on that but only once a week on the Needsize routine..

My aims is not to be any contest BB'er or PL'er but to put on some serious size and strength would be great.

Few stats:

I'm 5'11 and weight around 76kg with 17% bf.

Thanks for any advise.

Finish this one out first. Good foundation there. After that Starting Strength or Wendler's 5/3/1 would be a reasonable next step.

Thanks for the input!

Yeah I think I have what they call weight training ADHD and always thinking I need to switch routine so even tho starting strength might have been a better starting point to then go onto needsize routine Im gonna stick it out until no more gains are possible!

My only concern was not squatting 3 x per wk was gonna slow progress but hey it's a marathon not a sprint and needsize's routine is awesome I think so worth sticking it out with.

Sheiko workouts are gaining quite a bit of popularity, along with the Wendler program.
If you use google, you should be able to find a beginner Sheiko workout, we have a few people doing them on our forum, and have had some great results
