Need to hide IP address

i know peer guardian and/or peer blocker are both ip address blockers. say if your downloading music, movies, etc it block incoming ips from tracing your ip. not sure how it works with email accounts, but i would say it should work quite similar.

anonymouse works for light web surfing. If you want to use it a lot, try a proxy server. Basically, everything goes through another computer and it appears as tho the communications is happening between your proxy and the remote computer (instead of you and the remote computer). Hackers have like 7 proxies lined up as each proxy adds a layer of security. Tho if your proxy throws you under the bus to law enforcement... (hence the multiple layers).

If I wanted to be anonymous, the only way that is a sure thing is to use a computer at a cyber cafe with cash, or to go to the public library.
If you use your computer, you're tagged.
If you use someone else's computer on your internet connection, they got you again.
If you use your computer on a hot spot, its still your IP.

You have to go to a public computer center or get someone else's computer at an internet connection other that your own. These are the only ways I can think of preserving your privacy.

My problem has been resolved. I used a proxy. But now I'm located in place far far away. So no need to hide. Since I'm really far away.

Many cyber cafes now have security cameras. Some in Europe (especially Italy) require identification (e.g. passport copy) before you can use their machines -- all allegedly in the name of 'fighting terrorism.'

or to go to the public library.

Good idea, if the library's computers are not too locked-down.
You also don't know how extensive the logging/filtering is on library computers.

Hotspots are usually bad news, unless you're running a VPN. Just look at the success of FireSheep.

If I were in his shoes, I'd use Tor. Goto torproject.org for details.

Wil brother. For next time I need a proxy. But for now I don't. Thank you!

I pay 46 bucks a year for a VPN from StrongVPN. Easy to setup, fast speeds, and total anonymous private everything. Also switches IP, and allows for additional switches if needed. Best bet and not to bad on the wallet.

of course web based e-mail accounts can do that on the basis of security. But what's your question on that?? You tried with different e-mail account..

Strong VPN keeps your info on file. Do not use them if you want to be totally anonymous.

Any VPN service In the US has to keep logs. A search warrant and the company has to hand them over. Use a VPN service based out of the US and they are not bound to keeping shit for logs and pride themselves in not doing so

Another vote for Tor, just don't open files you've downloaded that can open an Internet connection outside of Tor. It'll cause a connection outside. They even have OSes based around Tor.
