I have been weight lifting for 5 years now. I have never done any lower body excercises. I had good reason. My knees were shot from sports and a motorcycle accident. I was not able to do any leg work without extreme pain in the knees so I just stopped I tried last year and the pain was still there. I tried again this year and the pain is nearly gone I am unsure why but I can start doing leg workouts and need some questions answered please. I am sitting at 170 5'8 all upper body my legs are smaller than my arms when I flex. Looks like I am going to tip over when I wear shorts im told. Thanks so much for any replies.

how much weight do you all think I can put on in my legs?

I read that working legs produces more testosterone in body is this true?

Since they have never been worked how quickly do you think they will grow with the right routine and diet supps ect?

Will they grow fairly quick at first?

Edit: Would my overall upper body be bigger if I had been working them out throughout the years? the link says so id like a few confirmations tho

1. I think that's something you'll have to find out for yourself. If you can squat with an empty bar, just slowly add weight and see where that gets you. What about a doctor? Do you still have an injury?

2. Yes. Squats / Deadlifts and Release of Testosterone and Growth Hormone

3. To answer the last two, I'd imagine that since they've seen little to no strenuous work, they should grow quite quickly at first since that's typically how an untrained muscle responds to stress. You know, the "newbie gains" thing.

dang according to that it says I would be even bigger overall upperbody if I had been training them throughout the years anyone able to confirm that?

it's true. the body tries to grow proportionally. so if you had a heavy squat and deadlift, your bench would be higher
