Need a suggestion

Hey -

I am looking for a suggestion for a small gift for someone. She is a good friend of mine - ex gf, but definitely an ex...

She is having some tough times right now - lost her job, struggling to find a new one....and I wanted to send her something to cheer her up a little. (She's 500 miles away now).

I don't want to get her anything expensive - I did plenty of that when we were together, and I don't want to give her the wrong idea.

Any thoughts?

After my ex and I broke up, she had some rough times. I wanted her to know I cared, but wasn't trying to get back together.

I sent her flowers and a copy of The Prophet by Kahil Gilbran, with an very personal inscription. She said it was one of the best gifts she ever got!

My ex got $1000 to pay the bills with for Xmas. She was having a tough go of things and needed it more than I.
The chick I was dating at the time got pretty pissed...

Flowers are a great idea...Yellow roses's for friendship and a sweet note saying that you wish more sunshine in her life?

Are ya all gagging yet? I'd think that was sweet if someone did that for me.....

The flower suggestion is a good one, but I don't want it to be mis-read as a hint at getting back together (becaue I think she wants to)...

any more ideas....

That's why I like ya :)

How about a gift certificate for a spa or salon that does manicure/pedicures, a massage or facials, etc...

That would feel good to someone that is in need of some pampering and it's not so personal.

p.. I have not forgotten, even though it may appear as though I have. :)
