Need a suggestion

Hey -

I am looking for a suggestion for a small gift for someone. She is a good friend of mine - ex gf, but definitely an ex...

She is having some tough times right now - lost her job, struggling to find a new one....and I wanted to send her something to cheer her up a little. (She's 500 miles away now).

I don't want to get her anything expensive - I did plenty of that when we were together, and I don't want to give her the wrong idea.

Any thoughts?

How about a gift certificate for a spa or salon that does manicure/pedicures, a massage or facials, etc...

That would feel good to someone that is in need of some pampering and it's not so personal.

If flowers are a litte much, maybe a simple card or note would do the trick - taking needleboy's advice and writing in a personalized little message - telling her pretty much what you told us - namely that you're thinking about her, etc.,

when i'm in a rut, the best thing is just knowing someone out there is thinking and praying for me.

is there a book you've read that has really moved or inspired you? i'd say find an uplifting book dealing with with life and perspective and write something nice inside it. send it with a card and some non-romantic flowers.
